Sam! It definitely feels like a fairytale. Seriously speaking, you are blessed. Enjoy!

I've spent lots of years on the internet and downloaded thrillions of wallpapers for my desktop. To be very frank, some pictures in this thread here puts them to shame. I wouldn't have believed all this were shot by you if I wouldn't have met you earlier. Now, where is Rudra? We're missing his comments on your photography.

YetiBlog® - 25th December 2007 - Merry Christmas

The previous night has been quiet and wonderful. Kleingesee is a super little village with 15 or 20 houses. So far the only people I have encountered are the Forsters, the couple who own this Ferienhaus called Sylvia. It's a wonderful little house with 2 bedrooms and a warm living room and a fully equipped kitchen.
We make full use of that kitchen and cook up a wonderful storm on christmas eve, combined with some scotch and red wine.
The heater is on 5, the music is on pretty loud. Merry Christmas everyone.

Here is the view from my bed the next morning.

And here's the view from the living room.

Step outside onto the balcony - brrrrrrr....

The spectacular view!

The village of Kleingesee

Walk back to the kitchen to have a healthy breakfast,

Close the door and now it's time to begin a day by walking in the woods.

FYI (for those who might not know) 5 = max on these heaters. BTW while Indians like to turn the heat up, most Germans dont.

Beautiful photos, Sam! You sure had a real holiday. And you certainly enjoyed the visit the the right way -- on the road, and on foot. I bet a typical tourist never gets to enjoy these wonderful sights and experience this country the way you have.

I think it might be one of those cultural things > "the christmas decorations must come down first thing tomorrow morning", and being germany, i think thats quite likely! (but still an assumption on my part)

My favourite picture from the Pampa

50 metres away from our Haus. I'm walking. There's no snow, but it is very cold. I turn around and see a beautiful sight behind us. The village of Kleingesee and our little Ferienhaus with our Opel Corsa parked out in the front.

Low light, it's gloomy and the sun is nowhere to be seen.

I love the way the path leads you into the picture.

YetiBlog® - 25th December 2007 - Walking through the woods

Thats what we did. Just walked all day. Never came across another soul, just us and the earth around us. No sounds, except for the little animals and few birds. It was too cold for most of them anyways.

And you could hear every leaf rustling. Every step we took was thunderous. And we thundered all day, till sundown.

And so we went back to Sylvia.

I was tired and very cold. I had not seen the sun since I got in and that was making me feel a little insecure. Got home took a warm bath and just fell asleep.
When I awoke, a few hours later, the rooms were warm, the lights were dim, the candles were lit and there was a good meal on the table.

This was the best 25th December night I'd ever had. Tomorrow we would go to a beautiful little town for a day.

That is fantanstic. I miss European woods, the way the trees grow --- although, of course, I can see those trees again if I leave the plains behind and climb the hills.

I love the Yeti Hide!
