Wow, the thread is on this forum.

We are group of entrepreneurs located 100 km southeast of pune.
Current member of parliament from this city is cabinet minister in central government.
This part of country is famous as sugar belt.
Recent 10 years, this city is progressing very fast as industrial, agricultural, educational and agro tourism center.
One multinational three wheeler manufacturer has its plant here.
Five sugar factories surround this city.
This city is near to first ganapati of ashtavinayaka.
And of course, we are starting our trip on 9th july from this city.
OK, i have given you lot of clues.
Now my today's question is,

which is this city?

Post your answers before time out.

Mansi

ok. i have some pictures taken by mobile cam. sorry for pic quality.

Everything is well said ashish ! I remember your location earlier was 'Baramati", so I guess it should be the same for the answer ! Do you plan to just keep on giving 100s of clues and a single question every 24 hours ?? Or it follows with few prizes too !!! I dont mind a can of KF for my right answer !! May be the viewership will go very high and the thread will get a 5 star too if you think about a proper prizing. Just my 2 cents !

Shajufx,
Your suggestion is good.
That's what i can say right now.

I have posted some road pics.
But infrastructure means roads, drainage, traffic, citybuses, educational fascilities, communication system, health, water supply and what not. That is best in my city.

Today at 5 pm, population of my city doubled.
Two lac people marched in my city.
They will be here untill 6 am tomorrow morning.
Read my next post.

We people take rest from work by going to some touristy destination by plane, cruise, railway, cars, tourist bus or by at least regular government service bus. We live at some fancy resort or at some least lodge.
We eat stuff ranging from anything from bread to 7 course dinner.
Do we people ever think about how poor people make their holiday.

Here it is.

Today, two lac[two hundred thousand] people marched in my city.
They are on their way from Dehu to Pandharpur.
People mostly are farmers from maharashtra.
They are pilgrims going to take darshan of lord VITHTHAL at Pandharpur.
These poor people have no time, no money to take holiday from their hard life. To make some relief from regular hard work, they have only option of pilgrimage. Thats exactly what they are doing.
They are walking 350 km from dehu to pandharpur.
This pilgrimage is covered in 20 days.
These pilgrims are called VARKARI in marathi.
People all along the way offer them food, shelter and other useful stuff.
Sometimes, they slip on road, on footpath, in tents, in halls, on platforms, at bus stands. If nothing is there, they sleep under sky.

Yes, there is multinational three wheeler manufacturer in India- PIAGGIO VEHICLES- Italian company. They have models such as APE running on Indian roads.

I got some answers to my yesterday's question. But i am not disclosing it right now. You can guess it by audience poll.

As i mentioned earlier, we are going to soak in rain. Naturally, we started to hunt the wetty spot. Our choice narrowed to four destinations famous as monsoon destinations in Maharashtra.

Option 1:

Monsoon masti: watch it LIVE and partake in the quiz-hiranyakeshi-temple-nadi-ugam.jpg
This pic shows a small temple built at origin of river in sahyadri mountains.
There is a hill station near this area. This part of country gets highest rainfall in India after Cherapunji in Meghalaya. [ sorry, i don't remember new name of Cherapunji.] This hill station is near to the state recently visited by Theyeti and Theone.

Option 2:

Monsoon masti: watch it LIVE and partake in the quiz-1.jpg
This pic shows India's first expressway. Twin hill stations are located on this way. They are very famous as monsoon destination among Mumbai and Pune people. One song on name of this hill station was filmed on Aamir Khan and Rani Mukharji.

Option 3:

Monsoon masti: watch it LIVE and partake in the quiz-242091771_7f50ae0cbd_o.jpg
This pic shows people dancing under waterfall in the ghat road.
This entire ghat itself is famous monsoon destination famous for waterfalls. You can see more pics this ghat right now in other thread which is just two nos below of this thread in travelogue section of this forum.

Option 4:

Monsoon masti: watch it LIVE and partake in the quiz-untitled.jpg
This pic shows countryside with a dam. This dam is built by British 100 years back. Lake formed by this dam reflects image of highest peak of Maharashtra. There are two beautiful waterfalls. That famous song of Mandakini in the movie ''Ram teri ganga maily'' was filmed here.:D

We have chosen one destination which is wettest.

Today's question is,

Which is the destination chosen by us?

You can post names of four destinations also and finally can guess the ultimate answer.

NOTE: Pics posted here are not mine.

First up Ashish let me commend you on a very fine idea to have a write-up in this fashion clap:

My guesses are (No googling!):
Option 1: 2nd highest rainfall: Ratnagiri?

Option 2: Lonavala and Khandala

Option 3: Mahabaleshwar/Panchgani or Tamhini?

Option 4: Highest peak in Maharashtra is Kalsubai at 1600 odd metres, but I'm not sure if there's a lake there. Maybe you are referring to Venna lake near Mahabaleshwar
