Bangalore - Mantralayam Bullet Ride

Hi Team-Bhptians,

I along with wife rode on Bullet 500 cc Bangalore -Mantralayam - Bangalore on 6th and 7th Sept. Ride was 412 kms one way.

Saturday morning, 6th Sept was comfortable. Road till Devanahalli was very good (Double Road) From Devanahalli till Gooty, the road is being widened and hence, lot of diversions every few kms. recent rains have damaged the roads. We had to traverse through big craters /potholes all along.

From gooty to Adoni was the beautiful newly laid road running through the hills with fantastic green this time. I mean the cultivated land. From Adoni till Mantralayam through Yemmiganur is a mix of good and potholed road. Definitely better than two years ago.

on 7th Sept, while returning we were caught inthe rain between Ananthpur and Penagonda. Still rode on at max of 60 kmph

Bangalore to Mantralayam travelled in 8 hrs.
Return trip took 9.5 hrs because of rains.

Tip:

Between Chikkaballapur and Ananthpur, you come across very few petrol bunks, but the stocks are unpredictable. I had to keep checking in 7-8 bunks for petrol even 2 in Ananthpur with no stock available.

However, the black petrol is available in Penagonda. Not sure of quality and price.

Regards,
Dwarak
