Day 5 to continue....the return journey.

Day 5 (13.10.08): The return journey to Bangalore. We planned to take the same route as it was good enough to reach home by evening. Started off from Goa at 7.25 am. Passed Savanthwadi. Stopped briefly before Amboli as there was a water falls and the scenery was beautiful. Got down from the car and took some photos of the falls and the sorrounding places. Started again and went to Vithal's Kamat for breakfast. Stopped there and had breakfast. Again started back toards Belgaum and reached Belgaum by 1.00 pm. Stopped here again to buy some sweets (Kunda) as Belgaum is famous for this sweet.

Reached near Davangere at a Dhaba and had lunch or rather lunch + snacks at 5.00 pm. Again started moving towards Bangalore at 6.15 pm. Reached Bangalore and my friends place at 10.30 pm and ultimtely reached my home at 10.50 pm.

The overall kms run was 1567.6 kms. We used 102 ltrs of fuel during this trip and the Ikon returned a overall FE of 15.35/ltr (with 90% ac on). Less when compared to my previous trip. But we have driven this machine to the maximum with full load. We had enjoyed the drive with the car running around 3500~4000 rpm and driving through the ghat section and NH4 after Hubli was simply superb. The car has become very dirty now and had to give it for complete interior cleaning in Ford A**. They are charging me 900 bucks + service charges for complete interior cleaning.

What? 900 + tax for interior. You should have taken it to Surakshaa (guess it is near your house), They would have done a better job and with a much lesser price.

BTW, Surakshaa do take up cleaning/painting/denting job for non Maruti cars as well.

Thanks Abhi. The car was anyways due for servicing. So I clubbed the servicing and the interior cleaning together.

I will keep this in mind for next time.

Yeah..the cam conked off while returning back. Have to take few pics from my mobile. Hence the clarity is not good.

I have already bought another cam Sony Cybershot DSC H10 (8.1MP and 10x opt zoom) this week. Costed me Rs.15,800 incl of accessories.

I was directed here by Abhi. Could you share the details of how you take the road from Belgaum to Sawantwadi please? And why did you chose against the Belgaum, Londa, Ponda, Panjim road?
