So v12 no pics of dianas icecream and masala dosa or what?
Unfortunately no, cos I didnt visit Diana this time. I've heard they're more famous for the Gadbad ice-cream than anything else.

Continuing with the most common cars :
You will find a lot of Fiat's with old registrations here. Unfortunately I realised too late that I should have taken pics of the Fiat / Amby's sporting old registrations. They would have been of some interest to Karl, Gogi and the Fiat gang.

The Maruti Omni is an all time favourite as a family + goods vehicle. You'll definitely find one in every nook and corner of the city. Its when I was typing this out did I realise that most of the road / street pics had a Omni in it.

There are more number of RX's here than in Mumbai. Maybe I should have started by RX hunt here before buying my junk RX.

I believe it was the cutlets and also the Gadbad icecream. I recollect the old days when there used to be huge crowds at Diana and we used to wait for a sizeable time before getting a table.
Which was that shop on the way down from the old bus stand (opp the now raized old police station) that used to sell "butter" (not the Amul ones but the yellow ones that we dip in coffee) and also good macroni.

Reading thru has brought back memories of Udipi/Kundapur/Manipal. Great places.

Their poori kurma used to be the best. The smell of the kurma used to linger on the finger for hours. In my first visit in 1976 (or 1975) I had poori kurma for 50p and gudbud for 75p. Used to there religiously until early this decade.

Now I pass in front of Diana at least one a week, but never been there in two years. That's how bad the standards have fallen.

They have been trying for years to lay 20Kms of 4-lane between Mangalore and Suratkal. Going by the mess they have created, I rather have it remain 2-lane forever.

Thanks bluetraveller. As long as ur sitting in the front seat of that auto, its good to travel in it.

Yes, Diana has lost its charm now. There are far better hotels come up in Udipi which offer better variety (South / North Indian and Chinese). The taste of the North Indian food is also better than what you would get in Bombay.
