Again, tea plantations disappear to give way for cardamom . These regions are 'Jeep Counties'

We are approaching Devikulam. The lake you see is Devikulam Lake. There is a myth that Sita Devi had taken bath here and hence the name as 'Devi- kulam'. Kulam in Malayalam means Pond.

'Kanan Devan' is one of the major tea brands of TATA, which is grown in the hills of Munnar

The caption in Malayalam reads 'Enjoy the ever lasting spring all times'

We are reaching 'Periyakanal'. After that 'Chinnakanal' will come. Periya and Chinna are words in Tamil meaning big and small. 'Kanal' I think is forest. These tea estates have a lot of Tamil migrant population who have been working as estate labourers.

Devikulam Lake seen below. We saw many camp sites on the banks, tents and of course open jeeps Being long shots, my basic camera was not able to capture those all

You could see some buildings far away on the hills. Those are the resorts on the Chinnakanal area, on the road to 'Suryanelli'. Club Mahindra and Sterling Resorts are among those. I had my honeymoon at Sterling Resorts, way back in 2003.

Welcome to TBHP

I have never been to KL. But after seeing all Blogs, KL reminds me of
  • Greenery
  • Tropical Rains
  • Narrow Roads
  • State Buses
