The tunnel you spoke about, if remember right, from what I've heard connects to "gavi gangadeshwara" temple in Bengaluru. That is another beautiful temple if people haven't visited it yet.

very nice travelogue. I had traveled there some 10 years ago and don't seem to recollect seeing any railings then.

A hundred thanks for this advice. Reached the foothills at 7.30 am and reached the top by 9 am. While coming back saw people struggle to climb up.
