Hogenakkal - Some info for travellers

Hogenekkal has been long on our wish list but have been keeping it off precisely due to these reasons - rowdy and indecent behaviors, eve teasing, drunken misbehavior, nuisance of vendors and the mad crowd. As it is there is only a small window during the monsoon or immediately after it to go.

Well, I beg to differ here. Hogenakkal waterfall still holds its own charm given you know how to handle locals in a polite way. All you need is a bit of background knowledge to save yourself from being ripped off. I visited Hogenakkal recently (13 Apr 2019) with family and here is the detailed vlog of the same. Think the falls is closed as the water is flowing almost over the hanging bridge. So no way they'll have coracle rides now. I wanted to go via Anchetty but those village roads are inundated as well. Guess we'll have to wait for a couple of weeks.

Anyone has update on the road condition or if the falls are open? Was planning for a drive tomorrow. Short notice though. Was thinking taking the anchety road if its open.
