OT: You badly need to check the indian/nhai map atleast once.

my dear AKROY, I DO know what is the GQ and where all it passes from. As a matter of fact the only section of the GQ that I have never travelled is the Kanpur - Kolkata section. I know Hyderabad falls on the North - South corridor as I did Delhi - Hyderabad on that just a few months back. Travelogue can be accessed on the following link http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...abad-trip.html

My bad as by instinct I thought arindam will take the shortest route to Anakapalli which is through Hyderabad and Vijaywada on the NH7-NH9.

I consider my knowledge of India and its geography as very good and comparable to if not better than lot of travelled folks around . The only state in the Indian mainland that I have not been to is Arunachal Pradesh which I intend to correct very soon.

And last but not the least, regards to my Milecrunching abilities, considering my age, I have already done quite a lot in India and Europe and intend to do more in the future. I have done umpteen numbers of Delhi-Jaipur, Agra, Chandigarh, Manali, CHennai - Bangalore at the a drop of a hat and Vijaywada being at the same distance level is no different.

As a matter of fact, I'm willing to do half to Bangalore at Hampi as per the Midway Meet.

Are you?

Cheers

"Long Live Tata" could be anybody - the country is filled with Tatas.
"Long Live Aveo" narrows it down to 5 people - 3 from Team BHP and 2 from Rest of India

Shiva / Arindam - please count the number of Aveos you spot on the entire drive (excluding any GM showrooms you may see enroute).

Started at 22.40 hrs and driving continuously for 16 hrs without a night sleep

I was told its somewhere around 6000 kms, does this require such continuous driving? Not possible to cover 1000 kms per day driving only during the day.

Not an expert, hence those questions

Understand that there are 2 drivers, so must be switching places. The way I do it is changing over every 2-3 overs to take rest, so that one driver is not overly fatigued.

MileCruncher, Dil pe kyon lete ho !!
When you told what a GQ is thats the end of the story (Tumto geography, history, experience mein pahuch gaye? Nobody is asking for it, chill yaar). Simple tell it was by mistake thats it. Even I did the same thing in a previous thread.

BTW, Blr - Hyd - Vijayawada is neither the shortest by distance and certainly not by time.
Had it been a Blr - Kol run then they would have probably taken - Blr - Naidupet - Vijayawada route.

Coming to Hampi, it is better I avoid it as it will be very hot (and I have a one year old baby). We will meet up sure sometime

It is possible but they have some other plans as well. There is a Puri temple visit cooking up too. Also, they planned to take a bigger rest halt in Kolkata.

BTW, so far only GSMINC has been driving since 22:40 hours. Arindam had a nice night sleep in the car

you should start one thread with title '' Mile crunching events'' and share those different experience you had in the past while traveling.

Update: 2:30PM

THey stopped for a leisure lunch at Vizag Bypass (NH5). Targeting Gopalpur halt for the evening there. If Tempo persists might as well try for Bhubaneshwar by 10pm.

Swift D has amazing mileage:
Bangalore - Chennai - 20kmpl
Chennai - Vizag - 17.27kmpl (high speed, Full AC)

Update: 6:15PM

They have passed the Ichchapuram Check post and now heading towards Berhampore.
After continuous driving GSMINC was feeling very fatique before Srikakulam and thought to take night halt at Berhampore. But then he decided to finally hand over his car to Arindam to drive and he went fast asleep. Now he woke up fresh and he wants to target bhubaneshwar now.

Execution to the plan so far !!
