I completely agree with Raghu.

Jay - Just ensure that you have all the necessary car papers like the RC book, the insurance policy, Emission cert, your license copy etc and you will have no problem. I have travelled extensively across the four states and beleive me, not once I had a problem with the RTO guys. I have been stopped and asked for papers at some checkposts and at some odd points but if you have the papers, they don't harass you.

Keep driving and enjoy!

Sridhar

Few pictures are of the Ahmedabad Gujrat highway , One of the best that i've ever seen ( i'm sure you all would agree ).

Stopped by at a pit stop ( petrol pump ) in Gujrat , i've done almost entire India by road and this was the cheapest Reliance petrol pump ( Ambani Connection you see ).

Was really excited to see MUMBAI 57 KMs ( nice boards hanging out of nowhere ).

Nice pictures. The picture taken at Reliance pump shows the lady is using her cell phone very close to the fueling point, in the back ground you can see the warning poster too. Guys be little more responsible.

Here are few more pictures after i reached Mumbai.

Couple of crows that i shot while taking a morning walk in a park next to the sea.

We stayed in Mumbai for 2 days and this was the first day. The Freeway was excellent on the way to Khandala as is very evident from the pictures.

We stopped by on the way to Lonavla to take some pictures , 2 of my cousins from Mumbai joined us on the trip to Lonavla.

Also some pictures while driving to Lonavla and khandala , I stopped by to take a picture with the Amby Valley milestone ( The famous sahara rich mens town )

Hey trust , That looks cool. Why don't you post some more pictures or start a travelogue , I have no worries of the travelogue getting highjacked cos i have memories/photographs of over 15 long journies across India but dont have enough time to post all of them.

I'ts gr8 to see that you did it on your 800 , i also have a 98 model 800 which has done close to 1.30 lacs and mostly outside delhi , So bring it on and lets meet up some time to share experiences.

NIce trip Harish. And thats a nice closeup of one of my favourite birds.

It does help to know that the states down south are harassment free for out of towners. Actually had planned one earlier but dropped it due to the negative reports. I will certainly fix a trip down South.
