Road trip : Delhi - Karnataka - Delhi on Spark

Hi Harish,
I have been following your travelogue but never posted any comments, but must commend the trip you have taken on that little sparky.Very good set of photos you have posted here and hope there are lots more to come, after all panaji is still 38 kms away and you have to go back to delhi as well

come on man!!! double up the speed now.

@ Prince Pervez- I entered Karnataka on i think 8th Day of my trip in December 2008.

@Fordmanchau - Thanks for your comments , you're right i have few more pictures left before i reach Delhiand would be posting them soon as i'm facing some difficulty in arranging the series.

I know that i'm going to hear a lot of music for restarting this or maybe nothing at all but i just could not stop myself from continuing it.

I would like to thank all the people who did show some interest in my travelogue and would really love it even if they just see me continuing this.

Story so far.. I did Delhi - Udaipur - Mumbai so far and was just about 70 kms away from Goa in my Sparky.

Story continues

We soon reached Goa around 7 pm and did not have the accomodation..rewind an hour back ( My brother used his dealer contacts in Goa and managed to get a fully furnished flat near the HAPPENING calangute beach..Lucky us ).

For the regulars to Goa..I'm sure you know where this shop is located in Calangute ( Also Pooja is my Wifes name

).

We retired for the night and decided to first visit our ancestral temple before starting the fun. Soon after the visit we headed for the St Francis Church and clicked a few pics there.

Also this was the N'th time that i was visiting Goa but was only the 2nd or 3rd trip to Goa for my wife and my Bro and it was them who wanted to see the churches ( i was really not interested though )

Soon after the visits to the Temple and the church we decided to go to DONA PAULA ( this is where St Valentines statue has been placed ) .

It was kind of Lunch time and we decided to have Lunch in one of the best places there right next to the beach.

Soon after this we headed for the COCO beach near calangute..Not many people would have gone there. It was also my first time there as it was not one of those famous beaches in Goa.

We did realise that soon after reached there as there was nothing much to do there with absolutely no crowd except a few locals so we decided to just take a short drive and a few pics

Ha Ha Prabhu , Maalik..i will finish it this time for sure. I also had some bashing from SS traveller for the same.

After the COCO beach we headed for TAJ aguada..although it was a normal routine for all 3 of us but we still went there as it was one of the best places that we liked in GOA.

Pic1 also shows the SHIP that has been stranded on the BEACH near our own Mr Vijay Mallya's KINGFISHER VILLA for over 10 years now. I've never been able to get any convincing answers as to why it has been stranded over there for years now.

Soon after that we went to the famous fort Aguada. This is one place that i really like to chill out.

We decided to take some rest there and click a few pictures. Look at the wonderful view of the sea from my eyes.

Also to let everyone know that i saw a DL registered car there and it definitely looked like it was driven all the way to Goa.

In total i saw 4 DL registered cars ( all looked liked they were driven all the way down to GOA ) and 1 CH registered scorp.

After a tired day we decided to spend the evening at a shack at Baga Beach.

It was a karaoke night and we had lots of fun. Here are few moments that we captured.

Atleast you are trying to match the life's pace in GOA with your thread speed. That sunset point beyond Aguda is really a nice place to sit and stare. I have whiled away many a hour over there till it was time to get up and leave.

@ Wandernomad - I agree with you 100% sir.

Any ways next day was the last day in GOA so we decided to just spend the entire day on the beach relaxing and having fun.

I took a nice Sunbath and nice swim in the sea water while wifey spent the time reading her books.

Didnt do any water sports this time as we've done it many times and were not too keen on moving our bodies too much

After a nice LAST day in GOA the next day was pretty sad as my wifey was supposed to fly back to DELHI as she had to join back work.

We checked out of the hotel and dropped wifey at the Goa airport. Soon after dropping her we were supposed to head back for Delhi but suddenly me and my Bro decided that we should head towards Belgaum ( In Karnataka ) to meet one of our cousin. We check and it was only about 200 kms from Goa so we decided to head towards Belgaum as we were not sure if we would ever come on such a long ROAD trip again.

So we both headed for Belgaum , Didn't take too many pics so posting only the ones that i could find.

Neat travelogue! I too have done the stretch mentioned till now but in two separate trips. Delhi - Mumbai in Apr 08 and Mumbai - Goa - Mumbai in Dec 08. I am planning to go in for a Mumbai - Bangalore - Mangalore - NH17 thru Goa to Mumbai trip now. Let's hope I get enough leave. Eagerly awaiting your post on the Mumbai - Indore - Agra - Delhi route.
