Delhi-Pune-Shirdi-Mt. Abu-Delhi - A 4000-km Roadtrip

One more travelogue coming up in a couple of days. Thursday (21May 2009) evening, we drive to Pune. ETD Delhi - 8pm, 21 May; ETA Pune - 8pm, 22 May. Have a conference to attend on Saturday and Sunday, then I'm on holiday for the whole of next week.

Plan to go to Mahabaleshwar (thanks for the suggestion, Ashish), and visit Shirdi, Ahmedabad and Mount Abu on the way back.

Just a quick note for tonight - Delhi-Pune trip completed today. Departure New Delhi at 8:15 PM on Thursday, 21 May, 2009. Arrival, Baner Road, Pune, at 8:25 PM today. Time taken: 24 hours 10 minutes. Distance travelled: 1605 km. Thank you so much, all of you, for your best wishes for the success of the trip.

Came across a red OHC with t-bhp sticker on rear bumper in Mumbai @ 4:30PM (was it somewhere around Nerul?) when I was hopelessly lost in the city with a failed GPS and no maps. Would have stopped the gentleman and met up, as well as asked for directions, but for the fact that, exhaust blaring, the car zipped by at around 130 km/h. After 20 hours of very controlled and continuous driving, I wasn't about to give chase on city roads...

Great Drive Man, 24 hours, WoW. Max i have driven continuously is about 18 hours with couple of breaks.

how many breaks did you have ?
drove alone or were there any substitute driver ?
post your experience and photos (if any).
