Heaven on earth, what else can I say! Nature at its best, what with all those greenery, the hills and the rains!

The jeep track that travels on the ridge of the hill looks awesome. So does the customized 4X4.

Here is it on map.
If you are coming from North of Kerala, reach Muvattupuzha -> Thodupuzha -> Erattupetta -> Vagamon.

well me too been there 3-4 weeks back. Its an awesome place to be.
But it was raining like hell when we were there.Well it was like a blessing to us.hehe

The road we took were from Trivandrum- kollam-krishnapuram-tiruvalla-kanjirappaly-Erattupetta- Vagamon. The winding roads were superb to drive (but with rain ofcourse.)

My wife hails from Mundakkayam, which is about 30kms from Vagamon, i believe. We did visit Vagamon with family, but didnt stay at any resort. I wasnt aware of a lake there. Maybe i need to explore this place better.

Did you visit the pine forest in Vagamon?

Awesome!!! Never thought it is so beautiful, eventhough I have heard about this place.

It is around 590 +/-10km from Bangalore. Reach Angamali via NH47, take diversion to Muvattupuzha via MC road from Angamali. Follow the above mentioned route from Muvattupuzha

Kootikal is near to both Mundakkayam and Vagamon. It surely is worth it.
When driving down, go by the Dindigul-Kambam-Kumily route. You'll love the drive as well.

Wagamon may be accessible from Tamilnadu via KK Road(Now NH220?) kambam, theni .From Bangalore or Madras ,there can be lesser distance via tamilnadu.
see this:
Yahoo! India Maps

^
~550kms from Banglore.

There is no special need to go through NH47-palakkad-mannuthi-angamali- MC Road muvattupuzha etc to reach wagamon unless you are visiting from north kerala or south canara .

great pics. nice write up...

Certainly is one of the hidden treasures nature has to offer.. .An enchanting place it is...Man those slopes are steep.. only a jeep or a 4x4 could do the job of reaching peaks.. Awesome pics ..
