Ours was a group of 12 and we had a facilitator known to one of the group's member at Leh. He organised everything including permits, stay at Leh, Nubra, Tso Moriri etc..

The Leh DC's office, I was told, gives printed forms where the names of the places that are allowed under permit is printed. And that's it. They don't issue permits for anywhere else other than that. I saw the form myself...

You called facilitator or Agents they have fixed place like Nubra, pangong and tso moriri thats it, they do not think beyound that. I lost half day because of hotel agent I landed late night at leh and told hotel guy to make permit and I specifically told him I am not here to go only general route and told him all the places where i need to go. Next day in evening he gives me general route permit and his answer was DC will not issue permit to Marismik la.
Next day we went directly to DC office and got permit in 1 hr and many bullet gang also got it.
Lesson learnt his go to DC office directly donot trust agent or facilitator.
The form you mentioned even I can print that with all general route, I have seen that form with Travel agents guys with printed places. If you go to DC office you will be give form without places you just need to fill it up place where you need to go.

Will start new thread how to get permit with scan copies of letter and permit.
Its easy task and employee at DC office are friendly and no need to pay under the table.

Day-1 Bangalore to Pune

Route: Bangalore, Davangere, Dharwar, Belgaum, Kolaphur, Satara and Pune.
Brunch stop: Ranibennur BP Ghar
Fuel stop: At Dharwar BP company outlet
Evening Snack: At Kolaphur (Below flyover)
Night Stay: Sadanand Regency, Pune (Before Hijenwadi flyover)

We decided to leave by 5 am and the meeting point was nelmangala intersection. Had a brief chat, though we had already discussed previous night about check list, vehicle, spare parts, jerry cans etc. it was time to check again, everything was perfect and we where ready to roll.
To be frank me and vijay still not sure whether we are really going to leh but we had time and money two important things.
Route was good till chiturdurga from there till ranibennur GQ is still in planning stage I guess for 10 years. Nothing much to say its flat drive going at 80 Km speed, haven't traveled beyond belgaum so its was first time to drive till pune. Roads are excellent from Dharwar to Pune.

Excellent, suddenly its raining Leh and everyone is going there. Need to think about alternates here to remain exclusive now a days. Marsimik La pictures would be interesting to see. God Speed Sha reach there by nightfall, too fast?
Ok ill relax and watch it unfold. The gypsy is the way to be and your wheels look cool.

Leh is getting all the attention on this forum. But getting to MarsmikLa..wiating for your pictures and write up.
BTW excellent choice skipping Delhi and Chandigarh from your route. Needless delay and chaotic traffic.

Waiting for more!!
Actually this was what most people who went to non pre printed places told me, if you go through agent, you will get only pre printed permit, but if you go yourself, you will get permits for M-La etc.,
