Thanks, We Offroaders after seeing those shortcuts can't avoid those trails, Jispa can be explored more but did not had time next time.

Leh is getting to be the destination of merit, it would seem. And why not, the pictures posted by Sha are outstanding—they make one relive the journey as if one were there personally. Great, and inspiring. It's taking a huge amount of self control not to rush to a dealer to pick up a Gypsy and head up the hills!!

Day-12 Pangong Tso to Marisimik La and Leh


Had to leave early morning so that we can reach Pobrang in time to climb Marisimik La. Lake was so different in morning had one more photo session. After conquering Marisimik La we had planned to go Tso Moriri but we reached Karu at 4 PM so decided to return Leh and stay again in same hotel. While returning again we had to climb Chang La what we noticed while climbing was Army recovery van was towing Volvo V8 SUV not sure what was the problem but truck driver was laughing when we took photograph.

Yeah it's Santro, good driver he analyzed the stream crossing before crossing it, from the picture it look easy but in reality the stream was at full speed.

Day-13 Leh to Tso Moriri Lake(Korzok)


Tso Moriri lake is about 230 KM from Leh and we planned to leave Manali from Tso Moriri itself so it was good bye to Leh town finally, stayed for 4 nights in Leh town. We had carry extra fuel in jerry can in order to reach Manali so Fueled up in IOC bunk and visited Maruti Service Centre to fine tune the Carburetor of Vijay's Gypsy after driving from Chang La.
We have to take same Leh-Manali route upto Upshi from there we need to take deviation to Tso Moriri, route is excellent till Sumdo village can cruise fast but beautiful scenery all along the route. Reached Mahe where we need to submit out permit but nobody in cabin had to wait for 15 min then officer arrived I asked him are you alone managing the post he replied no there is local cricket match going on so all officers are gone to watch it. From Mahe it's about 12 Km to reach Sumdo village after few kilometer from Sumdo there is no road until Korzok(lake) 40 km gravel and sand road. There is no board sign how to reach Korzok just follow trail next to lake to reach village where lot of homestays and camps are present, Before village there is check post need to hand over permit to move further to village. Tso Moriri lake is different from Pangong can't describe how but beautiful only photo can tell and you guys can judge which lake is beautiful for me both are Wonders of India.

There are lot of camps and homestay. we were offered homestay for 400 Rs. but no toilets but we took the camp which was nearer to lake forgot the name, two type of accomodation normal tent 1200 and swiss tent 2200 which includes dinner and breakfast you can negotiate still more, when we stayed only 6 vehicles where there through out Korzok so no problem of avaliability other camps all empty.
After you cross ITB check post on the right side there is build up accomodation type but we did not enquire it.
there is electricity but i did not find any plugs in tent for backup they have generators and camp had clean toilets.
But condition is similiar to Sarchu type at evening but managable when we stayed it was very windy at evening tent was shaking.

No, what is GOMPA? my knowledge its sort of temple type.
we spend more time on lake wandering and climbing mountains to get better view of lake.
