From the pics, it looks like lot of your group mates has tummy. How did they manage the climb? Must have been very difficult, right?

thanks meer.
some of the views are so scary that one mate actually tried to call his wife to tell about where his insurance papers are kept.
we all enjoyed the trek and that is the thrill in daily routine life.
Bhimashankar is mainly pilgrim center with very limited facilities,
Malshej is monsoon destination mainly for group of adventurous males,
Amboli is monsoon destination for families.

ha ha,
You noticed it.
During climb, they were fresh and did easily but while coming down......
Now, all the mates with tummy are demanding such treks to be in shape quickly.

Fantastic pics and writeup Ashish ! Thouroughly enjoyed reading this. I think the fog made the whole place so surreal and mystical. Thanks for sharing !!

Great travelogue Ashish. Hope to go there this year - not to the forts but at least to Malshej Ghat.

Hi Ashish,

This is such a wonderful travelogue. You almost made me trek to all the places you visited

Now that you have put a kida(worm) inside me, I would be hittin the place soon someday. As i've not driven ever to ghats and this is my first car, can you advise how to drive in ghats with so much mist/fogs day or night?

Thanks and keep posting such wonderful travelogues. I wish I could be in your club

Cheers~

A very detailed travelogue with crisp pictures of nature at it's best.

Thank you for taking us there without travelling much and thank God I was not part of your group for the trekking .

Rudrah,
thanks for your comments.
I know that you also have kida for such treks[ courtesy-your profile].

For ghat driving, trust your sinfully sexy, shamelessly raw, explicitly powerful Palio1.6. She will not let you down. Just drive slowly, safely, no blind turn overtaking, keep patience behind slow moving truck, turn on blinkers and fog lamps, don't look edhar-udhar, concentrate on road and you will be expert in ghat driving in mist/fog.

Trekking is the way to know your body's capabilities, to go in the wilderness, to know the nature.
It is fun to trek. Do it, you will enjoy it.
