As our club trip goes every year, usually, i plan everything about the trip.
This year also, as monsoon is just started, we planned the trip to malshej ghat.
Due to popular demand, naneghat trekking also included in the program.
Last year also, we went to amboli and i had posted the travelogue.
please refe http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...take-quiz.html.

On 8th june, we started from baramati @ 8:15 am.
There were 15 entrepreneurs joined this trip. The 25 seater tata tourist bus was hired.
We stopped at choufula for breakfast. 4 crates of mineral water dumped in the bus.
Choufula-nhavara-karegaon is district road with usual patches.
Came to karegaon and then it was cakewalk on 4 lane pune nagar road.
Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-4.jpg

Reached to shikrapur. Right turn and we were on shikrapaur chakan 2 way tolled road.
Reached to chakan in no time and again we were on 4 lane pune nasik nh50 highway.
It was almost 12:30pm. At khed/rajgurunagar, 4 lane ended and twisty 2 laned nh50 started.
Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-5.jpg

After khed, we started hunt for good restaurant/ dhaaba to have lunch.
Search completed after 1 hour at narayangaon.
mean time, we crossed peth and avsari ghat and manchar city.
At narayangaon, Ganpir hotel fulfilled our wish of good lunch.
Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-6.jpg

Started our journey again at 2:30 pm toward junnar.
Now, we had left the nh50 and taken mdr toward junnar.
Sahyadri's huge mountains were inviting us.
@ 3:00 pm, we were at junnar. Stopped there for little purchasing of snacks and other items.
Fort shivneri, the birthplace of raja shiavaji, almost touch the junnar city.
Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-7.jpg

Again started our journey at 4 pm. now , we were going to malshej ghat via ganesh khind ghat.
junnar to malshej is not more than 25 km.
As we approached the ganesh khind ghat, suddenly, wall of mist appeared.
visibility lowered to bare 50 feet. let pics talk about that.
Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-8.jpg
Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-9.jpg

Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-11.jpg
Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-12.jpg
Crossed this ghat and touched alephata-malshejghat-kalyan nh222.
There was mist everywhere.
Crossed one more khind/pass and reached to mtdc flamingo resort at 5:00 pm.

Mtdc flamingo resort is at the edge of cliff.

There is well marked board at entrance.

The resort is somewhat 500 meter from this board off the highway.

There was mist/fog and visibility was @50 feet.

Somehow, reached to reception and then quick check in.

We hurried and left the resort within next 15 min and reached to ghat at @5:45pm.

There is small tunnel at the ghat section. We parked the bus at that tunnel.

We started roaming at the ghat.

To our bad luck, there was no rain, so no waterfall.

Weather was cloudy, foggy, misty whatever you call it but the visibility was minimum.

Now pics will talk more.

Small temple near tunnel

This ghat is prone to landslide and falling stone.

Distance board for quick reference.
Small canteen near temple is culprit for all that litter.
Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-18.jpg

Beautiful valley.
Due to cloudy and misty weather, could not get good shot.
Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-19.jpg

You can get glimpse of harishchandrgad fort from this ghat.
Due to bad weather, i could catch this much.
The mountain at exactly center of pic is the fort.

Sir,
I am learner in case of photography.
The gurus who always post pics in photography section inspired me.
I have tried almost all settings in my p&s camera for that last pic.
Still i have to learn too many things about photography.

Thanks for your comment, Rudraji.

Ashish, wonderful pictures. This is the best season to visit such places and this weather is romantic and magical. Waiting to see more pictures of fog and rain and those cloudy skies.

So your paying back for all the time you been spending on travelogues lately without contributing..eh?

The Resort

Last time at amboli, we had booked suits but this time , on demand, we booked group accommodation.
I was little hesitant while booking.
I was not aware and sure about cleanliness and facilities about such accommodation.
As first time i entered the resort, without looking at our booked accomodation, i blankly requested resort manager to convert our booking into suits.
But meantime, my friends checked the accomodation and we were more than happy. It was neat, clean, well maintained, well furnished accomodation. The resort was empty and we were only guest there. But weekend situation is totally different.

Back to topic.... after roaming in the ghat, came back to resort at 7:15pm.
The mist increased so much that we could hardly see 15 feet.
Now , you know what, its partyyyyy time.
There is flamingo restaurant in the main building of resort. Ordered food.
Veg and nonveg food is excellent. You don't have much choice with limited menu. But whatever we ordered, it was tasty with reasonable pricing. Staff is helpfull and they know that there earnings come from the pocket of guest. So, the service is best.
In the night, @ 10 pm, we all gathered in the back premises of resort.
All stories about forest, wildrness, trekking flowed.
Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-25.jpg

Then its good night's sleep.
Surprise, surprise, after heavy party, almost everyone woke up at 6 am.
I started to check the resort premises.
Monsoon masti: Malshej ghat, Jivdhan fort and Naneghat.-26.jpg
As earlier mentioned, this resort is situated at the edge of cliff.
There is nice view of valley. But due to mist, could not see much.
Now let pics talk.
