Well it was the 1st day enthu...no stops other than for petrol, absolutely no traffic and the GQ road that made this happen

This was a short drive again and we managed to reach Madhurai by around a 4 in the evening and visited the majestic Meenakshi Temple. Some maintenance work was going on and hence the place was very crowded and stuffy.

Madhurai was a very small but crowded town with a lot of cycle rickshaws all over and hardly any place for people to walk or drive around.

This was a disappointing day because something went wrong with my camera... luckily the issue got sorted somehow the next day.

10 Kms full of thousands of windmills in all directions around you is what you come across when you are closing in on Kanyakumari. This is one sight one would never want to miss as it is unique to this place alone. I am told that 90% of India’s windmills are located in this location.

The drive into Kanyakumari was great with lots of greenery around. We checked into a hotel located almost at the southern most tip of India. We could see the Vivekananda Rock from the balcony in our room. Had lunch, visited the Vivekananda Rock, drove around the place in the evening and called it a day.

It was a rainy day again and we had to leave early in the morning to avoid the traffic. I must say that the roads of KL are not up to the mark and we encountered a lot of bad patches which slowed us down. On reaching Alapuzha we just couldent wait and so went for a back water ride before even checking into a hotel. With all our luggage locked in the car we left for a very very beautiful experience which again is a must do in life. The calmness of the backwater and the beautiful greenery all over was something which would make one return back to the KL again and again.

On our way to Munnar we drove thru Kumarakom which was again as good as Alapuzha and had many high profile hotels like the Taj. Most of the drive from Alapuzha to Munnar was in the interiors and on a ghat and hence it took us some time to complete it. On our way to Munnar we also stopped for an elephant ride into the jungle which was something very different & enjoyable. We reached Munnar checked into a hotel with a very beautiful view.. Saw the place around in the evening and spent rest of the day enjoying the weather.

One of the most beautiful mornings of my life!!!

Munnar is a beautiful place with lots of greenery all-round. The tea estates and the dense forest add to the beauty of the place.
The next morning we did a small circuit within Munnar as suggested by Kumar Sir. Roads were amazing with a lot of natural beauty all around which got enhanced since we had got out early in the morning. With lakes, mountains, valleys, clouds and cool breeze flowing this drive became my best one during the trip.

Was a good drive to Conoor as well since it was a mix of ghats, highways and city driving. We had lunch in Coimbatore and then moved on to our final destination.

A 15 km drive which could have been done on the previous day, this was a result of our decision to stop over at Conoor and not spend 2 nights in Ooty.

In Ooty we saw the lake, botanical garden and the highest peak in Ooty called Doddabetta. The view from Doddabetta was unbelievable due to the height and the 360° view that one gets from there.
