Sony Alpha 100, now I know why the colors are so vivid! Sony SLRs are amazing when it comes to color reproduction

Yup, I'd set the color mode to Vivid/Landscape most of the times. Tried playing with saturation levels here and there too.

My friend, that's gonna be something requiring in depth analysis and exchange of emotions . Let's meet up sometime and check out the respective pics of the two.

Hey man, you're scaring Murali!
On a serious note, the MASS in Leh is useless, only good for washing the vehicle. At least that's what my experience was with them. Partly because of them, I got stuck at a very bad place. More later on that though.

Superb photography, lordofgondor, and some are ad photo material worthy of the Esteem - unfortunately discontinued... Congratulations on a successful trip.

Day 3

Day 3: Keylong – Jispa – Baralacha La – Sarchu

Left our hotel around 7 AM, and we were pretty excited about traversing the first mountain pass which had been covered with snow until a few days back. Our fingers were crossed that the situation hadn’t changed, and guess what, it hadn’t. The Nallah at Killing Serai was on our mind as the guy at the hotel had kind of psyched us out about its condition, so we’re kinda apprehensive, but full of spirit.

Enroute Jispa:

Crossed Jispa and about 10 Km from Patseo-Zing Zing Bar, the road conditions became bad. The tarmac was broken and the road was mud & gravel with some water crossings. Then came Killing Serai, and I was like “what the f@#$”! A narrow lane, filled with water and a huge piece of bumpy twisty land right in between the lane. No way I was gonna drive over that without guidance from outside. So wife disembarked, and guided me through those ~100 mts of nerve wrecking stretch. But once we’re through, it was so exhilarating that we forgot to take any pic of that. Soon after came our next and a bit scary (at least for us) water crossing:

Took us sometime to figure out the correct path to cross it, and wollah we did it without a hitch. Then came some nice scenery:

We could now see the Baralacha La ahead of us and man, were we pepped up or what.

Almost there:

And the Baralacha La is conquered by the dynamic duo, though only the sidekick is in the pic

More pics of the wonderful Baralacha La coming soon...

Thanks sir! Yeah I feel the same about the car being discontinued. It handled everything I threw at it without a complaint.
