That was funny. Drooped L long time back after getting my driving license though.

It was time, 9th July 2009. I had my train tickets reserved in Rajdhani express and train time was 8:20PM.
I did not go to office that day and told off i'll work from home till 2PM.

Time 2PM, i packed my bags fit it in my bike. It was raining. I bid goodbye from my wife and kid. Now started towards Bangalore railway station. Asked one guy to pack the bike, booked the bike in train. I was waiting for my other friend Manu, he came after an hour and we started usual chit chatting.

Train was on right time. Not much to say about train journey. It reached in Delhi on time at around 6:30AM on 11th July. Some formalities need to be done and we were out of station at around 8:30AM. Bike was not damaged excepth the foot rest. I filled petrol and we left to Jeetender in Goutam Nagar for a rental bike for Manu.

Jeetender was a very helpful guy. I test rode the thunder bird and felt quite OK except hard clutch and brake. Jeetender fixed the said problems, bike rental formalities done and we were out by 1:30PM.

We did not have any food except fruit juices, so stopped in one of the Baishno Dhaba and had simple launch over there. We were cruising in good speeds. In the way it was drizzling, stopped and put tarpulin sheets and resumed. By around 8PM we were at ROPAR, however we thought not to do night halt there. so moved further, roads were quite dusty and had little problem while riding in nihgt with dusty roads and high beam lights from opposite direction. Reached Kiratpur at around 9PM, searched for hotel and locals there told there is no hotel in KIRATPUR, we need to go to Swarghat. We rode again and reacjed SWARGHAT at 10PM, got hotel for 500 Bucks, went inside. Ordered dinner with Whiskey and slept.

Wrong Things I did:
1. Did not use Sun cream, body fully tanned now.
2. Did not fix Speedometer and it's giving trouble.

Our Train company.

Date 12th July 2009
Start Ride time: 1PM
End time: 8:30PM
From: SwarGhat
To: Manali
Issue: None
************************
We got up at around 11Am , had breakfast, settled the bill, place our saddle bags in bike. It's 1PM when we started from SwarGhat. Went off enjoying the scenic beauty of Ghat Roads. There were small traffic jams, but we managed to cross them in bike.

By 4 PM we stopped at a Dhaba, had lunch. :Lunch was 1 hour break as Dhaba person cooked food for us. Taste was good also. Had cigarettes, resumed our journey. I do not remeber all the places where we stopped for photo sessions, but quite some places we've stopped. Crossed the tunnel, crossed Kullu and spotted tea stalls veside beas river. stopped there for some time, had tea, cig and of course some snaps.

Manu thought i was ahead, as i usually drive fast. But i was behind. I asked him to wait in Manali, Reached Manali at around 8:30PM. Met some guys from Mumbai, they were going to Leh in a rented SUMO.Got a hotel for 450 bucks.Freshened up in hotel, Went to Mall road, withdrawn money from SBI ATM, Manu purchased one more bag for him. Had dinner at Chopsticks with beer. Came back to hotel and slept.

Great to see that you have completed the tour successfully.

A Bullet bike tour brings all the memories back and surely again someday will have to do at least once more a hill tour on a Bullet.

Anyway, do post some good pictures and details.

What no helmets? Or was that only for photo op?

LOL tea with your feet in water. Wonder how they prevent those tables from floating away?
