Waiting for more, SBR. Can you post a few pics of Periyar House? I had stayed there for a couple of days in my childhood and have fond memories. Wonder if the place is still good.

Will try and post more pics in a day or two. Somehow could not manage to click photos of Periyar House. Work has caught up after the leave. Periyar House is a fantastic place to stay. The food, the ambience, the staff, everything was perfect. Best thing was me, wifey & my 5 month old daughter were the only guests who were staying at Periyar House that day as it is off season and still we felt very safe and comfy.

Day: 3

Thekkady - Alleppy

woke up around 6:00am, went for a morning boat ride at 7:30am in Periyar Lake, came back to Periyar House, freshened up and had the good breakfast buffet.

Left for Alleppy at 10:00am and reached Alleppy by 2:00pm. Had made a prior booking for the House Boat. Boarded the boat by 2:30pm after parking the car at the parking lot which was arranged by boatman, Parking at Kerala Tourism Office was not allowed as Snake Boat race arrangements were being made for the coming week. Had to Rs. 50 for Parking for a day.

Once we were on boat, we were served with welcome drink, good Kerala meals with Karimeen Fry for lunch.

After lunch, i jus hit the bed for some rest. It was a 2 bedroom boat and we paid 4.5K for a day (All Inclusive). We were using only one bedroom.

In evening, we were served with tea and biscuits.

Dinner was at 8:30pm (was made in kerala style and we had chicken this time)

The experience was quite exciting on board the boat. Have posted few pics below;

Surprising to see a Coracle in Allapuzha waters, I guess coracle was never part of Kerala, but got intorduced by the fisherman from Karnataka recently. BTW did you try out fishing using line there?

Didnt try fishing but was involved in clicking photographs, spending good time with my 5 month old daughter on board the boat.
