The shortest and scenic route which goes through Hosur-Denanikottai-Anchetty-Natrampalayam-Billgundala route is in very good condition other than a 4.5 kms stretch near Natarampalayam.
The second shorter route which goes through Hosur-Rayakottai-Palacode-Pennagaram route is also not bad other than some bad patches between Rayakottai-Pennagaram.
The longest and the best route in terms of road condition is Hosur-Krishanagiri-Dharmapuri-Pennagaram.

Re: One Day Trip To Hogenakkal

I'm planning to visit Yelagiri during the weekend. I'm considering two options:

Option 1:
---------
Saturday: Visit Yelagiri, check-in to hotel, explore Yelagiri, overnight stay at hotel
Sunday: Check-out from hotel, visit Hogenakkal and return to Bangalore

Option 2:
---------
Different day trips to Hogenakkal and Yelagiri (two different weekends)

I'm more inclined toward option 1, since I can cover both the places in the same weekend.

1) Is it worth staying an extra day in Tamil Nadu just to see Hogenakkal Falls?
2) Are there any good restuarants/cafe en-route to refresh? Last time when I went to Yercaud, I found that there are no good restaurants or cafe in the highway.
3) Is Hogenakkal a safe place for couples?
