Sorry its OT, but I just feel all the Getz and i10/20 are so hyped up.
Hmmm!! You are saying that to a suzi fan. He is not being anti suzuki, he is just saying that because swift diesal is not upto the mark. Have you driven one of these vehicles, if not please do so you might then not be anti H. Anyway back to the topic rahul few pics are missing right?

Thats because swift doesn't have a top end. That engine feels nice only upto 140kmph. After that the struggle begins, I feel the rest of the car will fall apart much before you hit the 170kmph mark .

In case you are unaware my first car was a zen (every bangy member who has seen it will vouch that it was as qucik as an e-zen). After that I graduated to owning the quickest NA baleno in the country (still is) officially timed. I have always been referred to as a Suzi fanboy since my early days on this forum. And I am. It is just that the Swift & SX4 have left me deeply disappointed with the pathetic QC. I prefer calling a spade a spade.

Anyone with an open mind to reviewing cars will tell you that the Koreans are not what they used to be back in the Santro, 3-pot diesel Accent days. They are way better now. But most people have this mental block towards Hyundai's. Which is quite sad.

The Getz is unfortunately very underrated. And the I20 deserves all the praise its getting at the moment (albeit, I would have preferred it with the Verna motor). One has to drive these cars over a period of time to really know how different they are from the other cars. At first, you might have to get used to it, but its these things that grow on you, that always end up being more special.

Vikram, IIRC the speedo indicated 200kmph. The tire upsize has a 4.6% error and thus the speedo under reads. 80% of the trip was done at speeds of 140+ coupled with around 45kms of ghats, peak city traffic. The Getz returned 13.xx kmpl. I was literally crying looking at the figures. My baleno would have returned 4-5kmpl and would have swallowed 2 tank fulls to be driven at the same speeds .

The getz speedo has some error too. noticed it on my gps yesterday. 40kmph on the speedo was 32kmph or so. will post up pics of the speedo error at 100kmph.

I am sure it does. Actually, I totally forgot to ask Satya to get his GPS unit for the drive. Next drive, we should have all the figures at hand. Sajeeth, also the car was running wrong upsize.

Interesting- the FE. I constantly get 14 - 15+ on my rocket, and needless to say, I drive it like it should be driven in highways! Btw, I'm on Shell diesel- and the except for the tires, no mods...

Highways- 140+... up to 160 at times. I averaged 105 - 110 KMPH on the journey through ECR from Pondi to Chennai - 138 KM in about an hour and 20 - 25 minutes. The mileage for that full tank - 60% city and 40% highways, both with A/c all the time - was 15.16 KMPL.

How did you calculate to get 4.6% error?

IIRC Shyam has got 195/60-14 which creates a speedo error of 1.11%.

Mines a 195/65 14 and yes it does create a speedo error of 1.11%. So if i am travelling at 100kmph it means i am doing about 110kmph.

Carbibles, calculator.

Quote:
175/65/14 - Current RR = 291.55mm, Current Dia = 1831.86mm.
195/65/14 - Current RR = 304.55mm, Current Dia = 1913.54mm.

Difference in circumference = 81.68mm or 4.46%.

So when your speedo reads 70mph, you're actually travelling at 73.12mph.

Is it 195/60 or 195/65 ??

4.46 % is too tall for the wheel wells. IMO

Yup, it has an error of around 7-8 kmph consistently throughout the range. I have personally seen a GPS reading of 185 kmph on a stock Getz though with a bit more left in it to go higher.
