2010 seems like a busy year for me. Not able to take any time off from office.

This was a quick report, as I could find too little time, and I expected so.
Please tell me what you felt was missing

I was asked by a few how the place was, where we stayed in Nagarahole forest.

We stayed at the Jungle Inn. Jungle Inn, Nagarahole - Wildlife resort at Nagarahole, Kabini (Rajiv Gandhi National Park), Nagarahole (Nagarhole), Karnataka.. This is not inside the forest, but within a KM to the entry checkpost from Mysore side.

The place is just basic, and the costs as advertised in my opinion per head are not justified. Simply it does not provide you the value. If you bargain for a heavy discount, then probably it makes more sense.

Food is absolutely pathetic and very minimal in choice.

The tents show their age, and the clothes used to cover up is dusty and hope it does not aggravate wheasing / dust allergy if you have it. Bathrooms are just basic, and water muddy. I hope this is not what they call exotic jungle experience.

The place does not have anything to walk around and see inside their compound, as you'd expect from such a place.

Further sicne their licenses for Jungle Safaris are not renewed, you cannot get a Safari as well in their jeeps.

So all in all, this is an avoidable place, and if you are paying the money why not chose a better one - after all the difference between good and excellent is marginal.

I see that Coorg is a popular place for holiday.

Have you guys visited Chikmagalur? There are a lot of places to visit around CKM. Its as good as Coorg.

The worst part was the water. Hot water tap provided hot muddy water and the cold water tap provided weeded(some had even lives !) water.

I would second Lalu on the feedback of Jungle Inn ! If there is an improvement seen by anyone later to our trip, then I think it would due the bulk feedbacks that we passed on to the authorities !

Frankly speaking, the standards of such places are the same across the 1000-1500 budget. Its like get what you pay for ! Then there are premium places that are very pricey like Cicada, Orange county etc !

The best forest stay I have stayed so far was in Masinagudi, TN. Rs. 1850/head/night at Jungle Retreat inclusive of food. Very professional, I couldnt believe they had a well maintained pool as well ! Rooms very dust free and well maintained !

Lalu.. I am visiting Ooty this weekend and you log is going to be my bible !

I was told the weather was awesome. There was slight drizzle (read misty) and mercury dipped to 11-20 !

All the elements for a LONG break !
