That was a wonder full trip you have across the GQ covering all the imp places.

You would have halted at Tirupathi for night & stared towards B'lore on following day.
Pls don't risk your life, normally many accidents happens only during early hours of the day.

Anyways congrats.

GQ

Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India to Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India - Google Maps
Your GQ Route Plan is wrong:
- Does not take Baroda Bypass
- Takes NH8 between Baroda & Ahmedabad, instead of Expressway
- Messes up the Baroda-Himmatnagar sectr completely, because it takes an inconspicuous village route via Dakor instead of Baroda-Ahmedabad-Prantij-Himmatnagar
- The Yamuna Expressway between Delhi & Agra has not yet opened. IN any case, the GQ route is Delhi-Agra on NH2
- It shows wrongly skipping Bhubaneswar, GQ follows NH5 route via Cuttack, Bhubaneswar & Khurdha
- Lots of glitches south of Vijaywada, GQ sticks to NH5 till Chennai, does not go into Sri Kalahasti, etc.

Please use online maps with care.

You can check out the correct route here, this is a detailed route plan prepared by me, which have guided several GQ drives:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...0xwVW1BSWlSWHc

Also wrong:
- STick to NH1A from Udhampur to Jammu , GQ does not take the short cut via Manasar to Samba/Dyala Chak.
- GQ goes from Pathankot via Jalandhar, Ludhiana to Ambala, not the route via Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar as you have shown
- There is no Yamuna Expressway between Delhi & Agra, GQ runs on NH2

THis route map is also wrong:
- You have to go from Porbandar via Jetpur to Gondal/Rajkot
- From Rajkot, EW goes via Bambhanbhore & Wankaner to Morbi
- EW bypasses Shivpuri town south by nearly 15 kms, but that road via Padora is not yet plotted in G Maps
- From Forbesganj, EW ges via Purnea & Dalkola to Siliguri

I have driven on the entire route, but beyond, since I covered the Westernmost (Koteshwar) & Easternmost (Kibithu) points in India, so what I am saying is not theory or inferences based on maps.

Thanks for the interest taken by you, HVK. More so, for you are a legend.

All my inaccuracies pointed out by you are very valid.

Thanks once more.

P.S - Can you please point me to the google map version of GQ and NSEW.

Re: Golden Quadrilateral ? Well Almost

Maps from the people who owns the road and well, make us pay toll for the same NHAI.

GQ : Welcome to NHAI : As per update of Feb end out of 5846 Kms of GQ, 9 Kms are still not completed. Thought its some ~6 yrs or so behind schedule, guess 9kms is a very small strech of a project of this magnitude. Kudos to NHAI for that. More so since 6 laning of the same has started in many routes.

NS/ EW corridor- Welcome to NHAI : As per update of Feb end out of 7300 Km of road (7274 Km on excluding GQ route which overlaps) work is ongoing on 751 Kms and even contract is not awarded for 420Km (1171Kms in total).
For a project already delayed this doesnt look good. More so if you check the map as per which the so called 'chickens neck' the narrow strech WB adjoining Bangladesh, contract is not yet awarded. This is one route which connects whole of North East to rest of country, not sure why taking time for this. Similarly Jammu-Srinagar strech also has few un awarded strech.

It says updated till end Feb 2012, but doesn't show the Mannuthy-Vadakkanchery stretch in Kerala which was awarded much earlier. Too humble, the NHAI people!!
