Default Kutch Kutch Hota Hai - Into Heart Of The Little Rann

As a Hindi film lyricist once said:

A week has gone by and I find myself with constant memories of...

To get over this state of mind, my friends, let me tell you a story of all that happened one weekend in the Little Rann Of Kutch...

It all started with Ladakh. The incessant barrage of travelogues was eating at my mind.

I too wanted to be a free bird.

I too wanted to drive on deserted tracks.

I too wanted to see wild animals roaming in their natural surroundings. But the mountains were too far away and the season over. What next?

From the recesses of the one track mind, emerged some links to a travelogue on the Little Rann Of Kutch on 60kph (written by bapu, a team-bhp member). Some more research and guidance by bapu, shutterbugger and ofcourse the guiding angel of the Indian roads aka hvk and a plan was drawn for a early Thursday morning departure. Destination: Camp Desert Coursers in Zainabad, 625 km from Mumbai.

My last communication with hvk was "Thanks. I will budget 8 hours for Mumbai-Ahmedabad and try not to be unlucky"

5.30 am departure on Thursday. 2hrs and 60km later I am stuck in the middle of smoke belching trucks, I was wondering when my luck would change...

Ok, another great thread to get hooked onto. The Rann is on my calendar during the coming winters, and your thread's gonna be another instigator.
