Hey Majic, very nice narration and a pleasant ending to your travelogue. Didn't you take any pics on your way back??

One question; Wasn't the Kothu Porotta non-veg? How much did it cost you? I must try it next time!

I went via Mvtpha - Thodupuzha - Idukki - Amayar - Cumbummettu - Cumbum - Theni - Madurai. Distance covered was 330kms. The roads are in excellent condition and you can easily attain three digit speeds except the Idukki - Amayar - Cumbummettu section which has hairpins and bends.

Road Condition:

Mvtpha - Thodupuzha - Idukki ----> Excellent
Idukki - Amayar - Cumbummettu ------> Good
Cumbummettu - Cumbum -------> 4kms of real bad stretch after which it gets better (Total of 11kms anyways. Not much of a deterrent).
Cumbummettu - Cumbum - Theni - Madurai ------> Excellent

Since I was in a hurry to reach Madurai, i did not note down the distances as such. But I have taken a few pictures of teh odo at all major stops. That was the easiest thing to do. Will post the distances after I check the pictures thoroughly.

Hi Magic,

It is nice to see your thread here. I appreciate your interest in travel that too family trip. I had been to Thekkady from Cuddalore in 1990's in a Hero Honda CD 100. That is still in my faded memories. Cuddalore to Madurai. Madurai to Bodi to Bodimettu, Rajakkadu. There I had a friend and visited him. Then went to Thekkadi Via Idukki and enjoyed the safe boating. From there via Chenganur or Chenganacheri to Trivandrum and to Kovalam had a nice rest for two days and the beach swim. On our return from Kovalam as soon as we reached Trivandrum there was bandh due to the arrest of Advani for rath Yathra. As our Chariot was of Two wheeler we escaped and reached Kutrallam. Stayed there for 2 days and returned to Madurai. Our first puncture in our 2200 ride happened in Madurai. I was not aware of all these forums So all my memories went off the record.

Hi Magic,

I see your request for the correction in the foot note of your posting. You don't have to give the request. Just take your cursor to the left side of your post on the triangle and click. That is for report and correction. Just you mention them the correction. One or the other moderator will do the job. Try to do with in 20minutes by your self if not give the report as mentioned above. Go ahead with more postings. What is your next travel plan. All the best.

I hope you didn't assume me as one among the two sitting on the road side in one of your pictures. Bye for this post

Thanks mjothi for visiting my thread, i was very much aware of how you had tackled the situation as narrated in one of your travelogues ( though i dont remember which), so i was sure there was a solution for the problem. The best part is that i learnt how to do it and also as mentioned by you there is always a spare key in my wifes bag.

Please do also check out another thread a photologue http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...ted-beach.html
