Year end road trip to Vengurla and Panhala

We finally decided to head for a road trip after days of pestering from my wife and well had to buckle this time. Mailed all clients and realized all the places we need to go are full. (we had goa, kodai, ooty and dandeli in mind) we wanted a quite getaway than being admist lot of people again. So without a destination we head towards Belgaum my in-laws place on 25 afternoon

we finally reach belgaum after 7 hrs of journey with a break in kamat upachar for dinner near Haveri. Here after journey was regular without any hiccups.

Next day we decided to go to Ambali falls and the road to the same was absolutely breathtaking

Prince P, Where exactly is this cashew town on the way? Do you mean Sawanwadi or some place close by to it.

I think Raj took that picture from Vengurla Port, and not Fort...there is no fort in Vengurla

yeah,
there is no fort.
though it can be assumed that the pic is taken from port, the beach in the pic is actually fishermen's area and not proper beach.
in vengurla, the term beach is used for sagareshwar beach.
the pic showing entry of the beach is actually entry of sagareshwar beach, not the entry of beach/fishermen's area in the pic taken from port.
entry of sagareshwar beach is famous for its sand dune seen in the pic.
there is small hotel at the entry where cars are parked.

Yup, you are right it is port not fort typing error sorry,

The road from Belgaum to Venkurla as put in images are brilliant and it is about 100 kms didn't bother to check the distance as we were not too worried about it.
The drive is one of the best and the ghat section is any drivers delight

Yes Ashish, you are right, but there are more than two ways to enter Sagareshwar Beach. The one with sand dune is the one pictured here, and other one is nearby from where you can almost take your car to the beach, and for motorcycles it is more than easy entry. But one this we must accept that this beach is one of the nicest beaches around, but always underrated. And i like it that way anyways...
