Wow

Excellent photos!

Reminds me of my trip to Yosemite,Tahoe & SF in 2006. However, I went in summer, so no snow for me except for a lil snowfall on way to Tahoe.

Unfortunately, I was a DP noob them and managed to take all the pics in the Tungsten mode in a borrowed Panasonic digicam!
However, the blue tinge did lead to some eerie snaps

Guess you had a blast!

I had driven up in a Durango(so I can understand how you must be feeling in that scary huge truck)

Thanks man, you must have enjoyed a lot during that trip. i will be going again in summer to get a different prospective of Yosemite. I was scared by this truck initially, when i got it out of the parking lot at Avis, after that everything just vanished. it was good.

thanks for your appreciation. more coming up soon, stay tuned.

part 6:Lower Yosemite Falls and the return.

Here are pics of Yosemite Falls. All the photos here are hand held shots.

1. closer look at upper yosemite falls. as you will see later in profile of yosemite falls, it shows the flow of water during various seasons.
2. Lower and middle level Falls
3. From where we came.
4. Profile of Waterfall.
5. surrounding view from Lower falls
6. The stream.
7. Closer look at stream that comes from Falls. Water was ice cold.
8. Surrounding view near Yosemite Lodge.
9. Stream from falls 2
10, 11, 12. While going back to the parked truck.
13. Last view of Yosemite falls covered with clouds
14 and 15. last photos of tundra with its abode...the nature
16. Closer look at all three falls
17. One of my fav views, all three level of falls in one shot surrounded by Sequoia and Redwood trees.
18. Lower falls only.

** Sorry, some images have changed their order.

With these loving memories we returned home. On the way decided to watch 3-Idiots and enjoyed it a lot.

With this ends the journey to Yosemite National Park.

Comments and critique absolutely welcome. Hope you enjoy this small journey.

Photos from part 1 and part 2 majorly taken by my fiance and rest by humble me. Equipment used was 53 inch tripod, Sony H50(Part 3 till Part 6) and Sony T90 (Part 1 and Part 2).

If any body is interested in post processing any of the images, do let me know. I will be happy to provide full size images. These are all straight out of camera.

Have fun. Cheers

- Don't forget rides on top of Stratosphere in Vegas, one of the most thrilling rides ever.
- Don't forget the glass bridge in Grand Canyon. If time permits do visit monument valley.
- In tahoe, it has to be South Lake. Once there, do skiing and other sports.
- Since you will be in San Diego, you can definitely go to LA, it has an excellent six flags - ride and theme park, Hollywood studios, plenty of beaches.
- If you are coming to Tahoe, you can't miss SF - golden gate bridge, fisherman warf, pier 39, coit tower, union square, china town, crooked street, many Museum.
- Mystery spot and santa cruz beach along with Monterrey Bay Aquarium.
- Yosemite National Park, Also Giant Sequoias- the world's tallest trees
- Shasta lake,dam, mount Shasta.
- If you are into wines, Sacramento and surrounding area is known world wide for superb wines. Especially near Modesto.

These are some of the options you can explore. Let me know your time, budget and interest i can suggest some more. Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions. Some I'd already planned, others I'll certainly do now. I'm there for 3 weeks, budget is not much of a constraint (nothing extravagant though). Interests: actually everything - cars, adventure sports, wildlife, fine dining; not much into amusement parks though. Will probably spend a lot of time at the San Diego zoo Plan to get some laps round a track too

Chevelle,

Telling pictures....... speak a zillion words.

Around this time the drive up to Glacier point and Tigoa Pass would be closed? In October had a cousin from SFO who drove up throu there, Mono Lake and did the Zion, Bryce canyon on the ET Highway. They drove all the way to Grand Canyon drove back thro. LV, Death valley, thro. the 198, Generals Highway did the Sequoia NP and back to SFO, some trip that!!!!

Collecting information for what I'm planning sometime around Sep/ Oct when most roads would be open, will PM you for information around the time of the drive.

Waiting for more....... keep them beauties coming.

Sorry for not replying earlier.

Yes, the Tigoa Pass and Glacier Point is closed. oct is a very good time to visit. though best time is from may end to november. Your cousin must have enjoyed the trip of lifetime. would love to do that someday.

Yes, that would be a good time to make a trip. you can camp there too. anytime you need info, drop in a pm.

Still resizing some pics, will post soon. Thanks
