Weekend Exploration in an unexplored resort

After the trip to Parmabikulam and valparai the next trip happened just in two hours - Totally unplanned.

Saturday morning by 9:30 my friend called me and asked "Are you ready to join us?"

packed all stuffs and some eatables to my kid and started the journey by 11:40 AM from home - Reached Electronic city to catch the NICE road.

The place is called Avalanchee - Emerald lake and the name of the resort is Redhills.

My friend spoke to the owner of the resort about the accommodation and hence my job was just to drive and enjoy the nature.

The approachability to the resort is quite tough. the roads are not too good after you cross ooty (from Bangalore), infact once you enter the private road, you should either drive a SUV / car with good ground clearance.

Now you can see how the road is i took the photo while we were returning. Of course, I could not think about snapping that when i was going uphill

We had a 4 hours trek to the hill top with a guide provided by the resort

Early in the morning the view was much better with lot of colors with it. This is why i love nature a lot

Looks like an excellent place. Recently my colleague went to a similar resort in Avalanche with his family. I forgot the name of the resort. They charged 2.5k per person per night inclusive everything (food, fishing, horse riding, guide for trekking etc).

Very nice photos esp. the long shots of the lake. I was told one needs a special permission to go to the Avalanche hills. Is it so?

Nice view of the lake. It is a wonderful experience to enjoy the nature at its best.

Your early morning pic looks like a post card. Good shot.

So, how did you manage to drive to the resort? In your car?

what a spectacular place to be. the photographs are really awe-inspiring especially the panaromic view. thanks for the useful information of the resort as well. The first pic of the road seems to be like an offroading experience you had.

The special permission needed only for the Mukurthi forest. it is one of the virgin rain forest in India - information Courtesy Subhro (my friend)

However, This resort is not exactly in avalanchee. once you decided to go there the resort people will guide you properly.

It was typically a off road experience as the pebbles are rolling around. My front left didn't get the grip on the road and hence I had to drive in the right most dangerous side of the road But my Getz CRDi did it without any struggle.
