The Renault stall is right next to the Chevy stall. They have a few interesting cars but I’m sure none of them will ever make it to India in the next year or two.

These pics are from inside the Megane. It reeked of quality! I wonder why Jeremy Clarkson and co keep complaining! Or maybe I just have a very low standard having been brought up on Marutis and Hyundais!

This wierd looking contraption is called the Renault Twizy. It's yet another Zero Emission concept. The scary part is the 'models' looked like kids. I was wondering whether to even click pics or not! And those kids were standing so close to the concept that I had no way of taking pics of the car without including them! Hehe. I wonder what the guys behind this were smoking!

After the Renault stall, we walk into the Tata-Jaguar-Land Rover stall. As is usual with Tata nowadays, the officials are very high handed. Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi are allowing people to sit in their cars and play around with various toys. However, very few people are being allowed into the JLR stand. I personally don’t like this attitude. I find it hard to believe that on a media day, Mercedes, BMW and Audi don’t have a problem allowing people to experience their cars but Jaguar has a problem. We click a few snaps and move away. Mr. Ratan Tata is at the main Tata stall announcing the launch of the Tata Venture and the Aria. So, as expected there is a huge crowd. We both decide that these people will anyway get the publicity they need from all the TV crews present there and walk away from the Tata stall. The Fiat stall is also in the same hall. They have a few nice looking cars. Well, it’s a Fiat stall. Did you expect ugly cars? The important car is the Linea T-Jet. The sales executive says that it will be launched this year for sure. It has 110 bhp and will cost more than the normal Linea. By how much, he couldn’t tell me.

The Indica Concept S actually looks pretty good.

The Fiat 500 is a special edition by the fashion designer company Diesel. The colour is also specially chosen by the designers.

This last pic is nothing extraordinary. The model is very pretty though. Fiat always has very good looking models. Even at the last Auto Expo, the models at the Fiat stand were very good looking.

coming up! Mostly by tomorrow.

You need to remember that you cant really eat at the Auto Expo. I went to Karims the next day and had so much, the waiter was stunned!

Nikhil, the next time you visit Auto Expo I'll let you know how can one have a gala time munching, gulping and burping ONLY if you're not an exhibitor.

The next stop for us is the company which everyone on TBHP loves to hate. Yup. It’s SKODA! They have a Laura RS on display but I notice it is LHD. I immediately know this is just for show and no go. The executive standing there confirms this to me. We sit in the Yeti and check it out. It isn’t actually as spacious as it seems. Quite disappointing. We sit in the Superb as well. Oh man, it is so comfortable; I can’t believe it costs only 25 odd lakhs! It has so much space even a fatboy (not) slim like me has enough place to play tennis at the back! I loved it.

We then move to the Audi stall. The moment we enter, we see the Audi Sportback Concept. It looks fabulous, but no one is allowed to sit inside it.

However, our disappointment evaporates when we see people being allowed to sit in the A6, the A8 W12, The Q7 and Q5. We skip the A6 and go straight to what we all think we deserve for suffering through life. The A8 W12 LWB. Oh, this is fabulous! First the Superb, now this. Hi, I’m Nikhil and I’m a luxury car addict!

The A8 has the usual Audi Bang and Olufsen speaker setup. Obviously, we can’t really give it a go, but I’m sure they sound fantastic. And they look good as well!

There is a beautiful R8 as well. However, the colour doesn’t do the car justice. I think it looks best in blue or white! Unfortunately, we aren’t allowed to sit inside the R8. I think that’s a smart thing. We would have cribbed about the lack of space after having sampled the A8. There is also a beautiful vintage Auto Union 225 Roadster on display.
