I am glued on to this one

Want to do this for so long BUT with the baby, going to have to wait for a few months.

Do update this one soon and hope I do not have to wait for weeks before it gets completed.

I'm also following this closely. I had done this run in June 2006 in my '98 TCIC Safari.

The going route was - Gurgaon - Jaipur Bypass - Ajmer - Udaipur - Ahmedabad - Anand - Vadodara - Daman - Mumbai - Lonavala - Khandala.

While returning it was Mumbai - Udaipur - Bhilwara - Jaipur - Gurgaon

@ gd1418 - How was the road that time ?
Our run till vadodara was absolutely smooth. Was consistently able to average 75 kms / hrs. Only Surat - Mumbai , the traffic density was high.

Excellant. I loved the long drives on the 5th gear. The winding roads through the mountains near Udaipur were amazing..

The Surat-Mumbai sector, then too, had high density of traffic.

Jaipur to Vadodra via Chittaur is always a treat, 800 kms of pure bliss. Delhi-Jaipur the less said the better these days. I am glad you started at 5.00am from Delhi!!!

Waiting for the rest of the report

I am sure you enjoyed every bit of driving to Mumbai except the moment you hit bad roads after such a beautiful drive you realise you are in Maharshtra and specifically Mumbai, the roads turn bad the moment you are closer to Mumbai.

I do Delhi- Mumbai via Himmatnagar which is an exit from the Ahmedabad Highway once every year, until now since i moved to Mumbai following are the details:

- First year- Hyundai Santro with my uncle- 27 hours the biggest mistake of my life to do such a long trip in a santro, my neck was stiff for next 3 days.
-Second Year- Scorpio with my friend- 23 hours, you are like a king on the highway cos you are in this beast, only front 2 seats are comfortable and there were only 2 people.he he
-Third Year- Honda Civic- 23 hours with a friend great drive.
-Fourth Year- Honda Civic again with a friend and all by myself on my way back to Mumbai this was auspicious as I did in 17 hours only...

Will be doing one this year too, if anyone interested then let me know we can plan together, most probably it will be in second half of the year.

Cheers

True, After Surat, it was diversion due to widening, high traffic density. Truckers occupy max space.

Now the trip summary and log.

There we 23 toll gates from Delhi to Mumbai. Paid Rs 959 as toll tax.
Got an average of around 13+. Exact will calculate once i complete the trip.

I think the first two (Kapashera and Manesar) toll amounts should be 18/- and 23/- respectively.
