| Family Vacation In Maldives - An Essay Hello Everybody. My name is genesis and I am many years old. I want to tell you a story of my vacation in maldives, where I went with my family. In my family are my papa, my mummy, my brother and two nice ladies who also became part of our family many years ago. Also with us was my favorite family member, my nephew. My family is a very happy family. First we went from Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram by plane. It was a red plane and there was a funny fat man with grey hair on a tv who told us we were his guests. He is funny because sometimes he has curly hair and sometimes on tv he has straight hair. The food he gave us was not very nice. But there were many nice ladies in red dresses who smiled and told us that it would not happen again. I too smiled back at them. At Thiruvanthapuram I saw many uncles with big moustaches, white shirts and they were wearing a half dhoti. My papa told me that it is called a mundu. The mundu uncles took our luggage from the domestic airport to the international airport and told us to have a nice trip. Soon we were on another big plane, and I could see blue water below. In the plane were many aunties wearing flowery sarees and big hairbuns. They were smiling and doing namaste and they gave us dosa, and sambhar which was good. I made a friend on the plane. She was a Malidivian. Her father was sick and they had gone to a doctor uncle in Thiruvananthapuram. Soon a ting tong noise happened and pilot uncle told us we would be arriving soon. My friend asked me look out of the window and I saw all blue blue sea.  My friend showed me some sandy islands and told me that Maldives has more than a thousand such islands.  I also saw some boats in the sea which people use to go from island to island.  As we landed my friend showed me Male city where she lived. It had many tall buildings since it is built on a small island and many people have to live there.  I said goodbye to my friend. I hope her father gets better soon. At Male airport, the police uncle asked me how long we would be staying in his country. I said four days. He smiled and said: "Welcome to my country". When we came out of the airport there were no taxis or cars like Mumbai and no honking. It was very quiet and beautiful with many beautiful boats. My papa says that if I work very hard and am lucky, someday I will have my own boat.  I asked my papa if we would go to Male but he said no, we were going to a small island more than one hour away and the hotel had send a boatman uncle to take us there.  I was very happy and jumped into the boat. Soon as our luggage was loaded and we started our vacation...  to be continued... |

| Boatman uncle and his friend were very nice. Once his friend untied a big rope, the boat made a noise bigger than papa's innova and instead of smoke, water came out as raced past other boats and went into the sea.   They gave us cold towels and cold water to freshen up. Papa and Mummy sat in a ac room below while we went to the top of the boat and sat next to boatman uncle.   He drove very fast and we had a good time watching the waves at the back of the boat.  We saw a big boat which belonged to a very rich man and also a local boat on which people travelled from island to island like a bus. Boatman uncle told us that the small boat is a very old design and is called a dhoni.   I told him that in India also we have a dhoni who carries our cricket team. Our dhoni is of a new design. After 30 minutes we saw another island which was very beautiful but uncle told me that his island was even more beautiful.  We started seeing small coral islands where some people go diving and I made up my mind that when I become more fit I will also go there to dive.  After an hour we came to our island and watched as the boat carefully made its way through the treacherous rocks and coral banks and parked at the dock.  We said goodbye to boatman uncle and went into the reception where we got some very nice fresh juice.  Many other smiling uncles came, took our bags and took us down a walkway next to a beach into a green grove of trees where our bungalows were located.   We each got our own bungalow and I went to my balcony and dozed off to sleep  to be continued... |

It was soo different than Pizza Hut pizza which I eat in Mumbai. Instead of paneer, tomatoes and mushrooms, it had wasabi, tuna and cream cheese. Yummy!  Now that I was happy again, I went for a walk around the island. It is a small island surrounded by a coral reef.  There is sand on one side and a lagoon on the other.   My bungalow was on the lagoon and I could go from my balcony straight into the water.  There were many many colorful fishes in the water. I like fishes. My papa told me that the tuna on my pizza was also a fish. I felt bad. But i still like fishes.  The uncles in the white shirts told me that they worked for Taj Vivanta and it was named after the coral reefs around the island.  They work very hard to keep us happy and keep the island neat and clean.  I liked the wind deck outside a room where some uncles and aunties were drinking from tall glasses. There was also music coming from that room.  I also liked the pool next to the sea. My mummy told me that it is called an endless pool. There was a jacuzzi next to the pool which went bubble bubble. I like bubbles.  In the pool a fat russian uncle and a fat russian auntie were sitting. I felt like telling auntie shame shame but I did not since the uncle was very big.  Everyone in my family also liked the little dining room which had been built at one end of the island. It was very pretty.  We sat on the beach to watch the sun set  Then we went to our room and soon the splash splash of the water put me to sleep.  | |
