Finally - The WHITE HOUSE.

Its a long walk to white house amidst tight security. I think its level 5 security being employed in and around White House. They also had snipers on the roof top as told by one of the police.

Just for the info, whenever Presidents won't reside at White House they would stay at Hotel Willard founded by Henry Willard. Its on Pennsylvania Ave and is famous for having almost every President stay there during their eras.

Martin Luther King wrote the famous 'I have a dream' speech in Willard's hotel room. Unfortunately, i don't have the photos of the same but it is available on www quite easily.

So Ladies and Gentlemen, without much further ado i hereby present you THE WHITE HOUSE

Some more in and around the White House

Tried peeping inside the House with zoom. Didn't find anything interesting.. I didn't meant to intrude their piracy, but just seeing an open window, thought of seeing something interesting made me click this snaps.

Lovely pics, Chevelle! It is nice to see those epic monuments in broad daylight---I had my fill of those places amidst deep snow!

As regards those multi-storeyed buildings in one of your pics, those are not of Downtown DC but of Rosslyn in Virginia. It is just across the Potomac River, quite close to the Jefferson Memorial.

As regards the Navy Choppers, I saw them too, but they were flying along the Potomac River, and not just between Capitol and Lincoln Memorial.

By the way, I think you are confused between the front and back portions of the White House. Most close ups you have taken are of the rear portion, not the front. I was living a mere 5 minutes walk from the rear portion---right across the Department of Veterans, and opp the McPherson Park.

Thanks Vnabhi

Regarding white house, the photos in post 46 is the front portion and in post 48 is rear portion. This was told by officer there. I was under the same impression that the photos in post 48 is the front portion overlooking the monument tower and memorial. But when i interacted with officer there he said there are 2 entrances, main entrance is in the front where President arrives and for employees they have to take the rear entrance. Also President's office is towards the rear of the building overlooking the monument tower.

This is strictly officer's word. Whatever he said i penned it down. So i am not sure about the truth. spare me of any errors. I have no say in it.

The navy choppers were flying over the tidal basin and went across the Potomac river which is almost behind the Lincoln memorial and flown into VA. But they were coming from Capitol Building side, so no idea.

As for those buildings, yes, they could be in VA, I am not too sure. As such don't know where DC starts and ends as i am poor in geography.

@Ranjith.Rajaram
Reserve your comments. A couple of hummers and limos aren't that grand. You should have seen the Hummers and Limos the groom would have got for his bachelor's party.
That would out do in granduer and celebrations!

Thank you for your appreciation. Still some more to come. Still sorting. All doing for Luray Caverns that is to follow.

Meanwhile, here is the showpiece of White House - all lighted up

P.S: If anyone needs price info, let me know through pm, would be happy to share it with you. But since this was a gift, can't share it publicly due to popularity of this forum.
I have similar showpieces for Capitol Building, Lincoln Memorial, Statue of Liberty, Empire State building, Eiffel Tower, Gondola among others.
