| I wonder how your wife/daughter respond to this geek-giri. Here has been a perfectly long and stressful day on the road - about 14 hours almost. and at the end of it, away you run to chitchat on the forums!  atleast take rest!! |

| Distinguished - BHPian | Back from the trip, and finally attached to broadband... Here's the route followed:  We stopped over near Surat for a round of "lassi", and got a free car wash - a first for us after all these years of driving the highways.   There wasn't much that was interesting during the first phase of our trip in Mumbai and Pune, except of course the Mahape night OTR session (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ex...-5th-june.html), which has already been reported. Mumbai and Pune were mostly family & friends time, and meeting a new friend like this one was also part of the package (though chatting endlessly till 2:30 AM was not on the cards originally!).  |

| Distinguished - BHPian | The drive to Goa from Pune was unusual, as in we left the NH4 to switch back to NH17 via Varandhaghat, as recommended by HVK. It took more time and was a longer route, but a more pleasant and scenic drive.           We came across this (to us) unfamiliar fruit being sold by kids on the road. Looks like chikoo, but tastes sourish, and doesn't have seeds inside. The texture is different too. Did learn the name, but forgot. Can anyone please identify this fruit for me?    MH police stopped us near the Goa border to verify whether we were plying commercially on private plates, but respectfully let us go on realizing that this was an owner-driven car travelling all the way from Delhi. It helps to drive a DL-plated white Scorpio in MH, I guess! |

| Distinguished - BHPian | One beach (and that too, the less happening end of it) is not enough. Beach hopping in Goa is about going to more beaches than you can count on your fingers. So off we drive to Anjuna and Vagator. Anjuna first      ...and then Vagator.       Pesky salesmen are a standard feature everywhere.  And Baga, but a messy traffic jam made us turn back. After all, we can't really hop like this fella!  I hadn't seen a golden frog before this (or is this a toad?)... Looks beautiful. While we didn't see Baga, we enjoyed the time we spent at his creek, watching these men fishing in water up to their waist.     Last edited by SS-Traveller : 26th June 2010 at 17:51. |
