AFAIK Rambuttan is Malaysian origin and the same family of Litchi. Its a unique sweetness, I might be visiting again in August only but fruits might be over by that time. But any visitors can ping me for fruits :D.

Oh! Time is running, need to reach Kottayam for lunch and start to Bangalore by 4PM. Manoj chettan has packed in lot of items like pineapples, jackfruits, some plant saplings etc. I started after bidding bye to Manoj chettan and family.

See a new offroading trail found on the way back. Usually these tracks are used by Jeepers only but seen many Diesel Autos also climbing with ease.


See the open store for keeping firewood. Shows the mutual trust of the villagers.

A good time off Jacs. Cool place your in-laws have got. Seeing your snaps just brushed up my memories; my grand parents house is also surrounded by rubber plantation, but in Kottarakara.

Meanwhile no pics of Mrs Cow?

Nice pictures and lucky you!. I drove to my home town in Kerala last month and enjoyed every bit. You have your own water stream? awesome!

When we were children, we used to play with this; especially after raining, it used to be fun collecting the entire water dropplets on the leaf & then combine them to one big drop of water. Your pic reminded me of those golden times :)

The greaterassets of Kerala are the hidden gems, which need to be explored rather than just accessed!

@jacs, so the Hartal gave you an unexpected chance for a quick visit to your in-laws house and explore the experience with beautiful photographs. The same hartal (nowadays it is frequent) in kerala may keep away the tourists coming to kerala and enjoy the nature beauty. Too bad what is happening in our place - Gods Own Country!

I never knew our villages had so many football fans, each junction had these beautiful banners supporting Brazil and Argentina but unfortunately they went out of scene during this year world cup.

Thanks Ampere. I heard from Manoj chettan that his village club had displayed live telecast of World Cup 2010 Final and everyone including youth and old gathered till late night to witness the success of Spain :D.
