So you do have to buy tickets to go to the valley? I didnt know that, thanks for the info. BTW how much is the ticket?

Why dont you put some more pictures of the valley itself as others have already requested?

Thanks

great pics mate. it surely is a heavenly place..reminded me of my trip to Valley during Jul09. How was the weather? good to see that you also made the trip to hemkund sahib..because of higher altitude there are more flowers to be seen around hemkund sahib than the valley. especially Brahma Kamal and Blue Popy..
thanks for sharing

Excellent details of the travell and the conditions pertaining to staying and eating. And yes, excellent photo coverage too. Request put some other photographs showing the condition of the track and the place of stay.

Please see the pics of landslides (sorry for the quality. Its from my phone). Please be prepared for your trip with more snaks while travelling especially during mansoon :(

We have stayed in GMVN (very average quality in Economic rooms) and there are some other private stay homes which cost you less. e.g. Hotel Kuber. If you are not with family and if you can stay anywhere it is better to go and search for an accomodation. Ghangaria is not even 1 km square so, searching is ease.

Thanks for the details. I am sure these will benefit many others like me.
Just one more thing...what was the condition of the track? Any specialised equipment or additional footwear required or a pair does the trick?

@ Susan The track is purely a steep hill and few slippery surface while trekking to VOF and Hemkhund Sahib too, Preferably wear a sport shoe with Rubber sole for better grip even in rain and make sure the sole is flex enough for your foot. Hard the sole will be hard to walk :). If you are going to there with a walking sticks (either pro or a bamboo stick which is available in Ghangaria) it would be better. Because we know our stamina and still when you trek in higher altitude our body doesn't produce much oxygen (stick is a excellent tip from my friend and that works). And have a Poncho which is best compared to Umbrella, If you are a photographer of course you need an umbrella.

All the best for your trip :) i am sure you are planning for it.

IMO for any trek, high ankle shoes are a must. While walking on uneven ground you tend to twist your ankle a lot. Any kind of extra support at the ankle can save you from a broken ankle.
