The first pic is awesome tiger. Been dreaming of this ride for such a long time, not sure when I get my chance to post a Leh travelogue. Would consider that to be probably my biggest achievement

Wow, congrats! With all the heavy gear, you guys look like some SWAT team. I didn't know this trip could be done on bikes. Did the low oxygen levels affect the engines? especially during cold starts?

@CARvalho, It did when we were 15000 ft and above.

I had heard the summary at the coffee shop at Adlabs, lets make it to the slopes of hell some time
@Rastapopulos, we shall go there soon.

What issues cropped up with the bikes at Manali to necessitate repairs?

+40 to that!
Traveller, Nothing really, back in Pune while topping up the engine oil, I put in a little more than required and while riding the excess oil went up the breather pipe to the the air filter, got my air filter changed in Manali, otherwise had no issues with the bike on the whole trip, not even a flat tire..Cheers

Really commendable that you have not let your age become a hindrance in enjoying the little pleasures of life. A wonderful adventure.
Liked the first and second photo too. The photo does set the tone of things to come.
@Fordmanchau, Cheers

Tigerranch,

My salutations to you!

Age no bar is a very apt title to this thread.

Life is not measured by the years you live...but by the moments that take your breath away.

My cousin presently in Indianapolis, Indiana who is nearing 60 has been to Ladakh...Leh and up in a 4 wheeler and now is planning to do the same on a Enfield next year...your story will be an added inspiration after I post him this link.

Your journey and photographs are just too beautiful, a very well written travelogue too. Way to go brother.

Hooked on for more.

Regards,

I liked first two pics, with all 5 bikers hand in hand makes it special. I felt like team work always wins.

Dream come true for you. Mine is still a dream.

Nice writeup of the travelogue.
