@Ampere : Nice pictures, esp the last one : the hue is enchanting.

And here are the pictures that I was hoping to upload, apologies, I don't think any of the remaining pictures that I took are good enough. I promise more pictures for the next trip!

Rummaging through my stuff I found some snaps, which I thought you guys would like.

On the road from Kadra to Kaiga. Snaps that you would rarely get to see.

A long shot of the Kadra dam from Anshi. (I had no idea how to take good snaps. Not that I am better now! You can hardly see the dam)

Last but not least, a personal favourite. The lonely Konkan line near Ankola Kamat!

Beautiful. So many shades of green depending on the terrain and crops.

Oh yes you bet! During many of my NH17 travels, I used to make my parents wait on the road side to catch a glimpse of the railway track.

Its not the train on the track, which makes the track fascinating but the very idea that a train could arrive any time makes you thrilled.

More OT, but to do with rails again : small village called Heelalige near Chandapura Circle ( not far from Attibele ). Some photos, can be a beautiful early morning drive on a misty Sunday or ( rainy Sunday ) . Pictures from my village directory collection.

Re: Dandeli, Anshi, Karwar & back

hi

can anyone tell me the exact route from dandeli to karwar i mean google maps doesnt give you all the details.i especially want directions on how not to get lost/ take a wrong diversion.

im first travelling from belgaum to dandeli in earlier posts someone has written that there are two routes to dandeli and one goes through ganeshgudi where is the other route?

how will be the road conditions?

has anyone travelled from dandeli to jog falls ?how many hours should it take. i have covered the yellapur jog falls route 3 years earlier how will be the dandeli to yellapur route?

i am travelling 1st week of september again the vexed question has anyone been to jog lately and any news about reservoir overflow?

regards

Sorry I did not read the above question.

Dandeli-Jog route is via Yellapur.
Dandli-Yellapur is about 70 km and you have to go via Haliyal.
The rest route from Yellapur you already as you have driven before (via Sirsi).

im admire you as you still recollect ive done that route!!!!!

its my first foray into dandeli. i especially want to take the correct and scenic route to karwar. however there have been lot of posts saying something about crossing a bridge.
as i understand it the route you have suggested is north of kali river and never crosses it till it gets to karwar. also is anshi also on this route it must be.im doing this route in reverse. from karwar to belgaumon last leg of my journey.

regards

pravdr

@pravdr
- You will also cross Kali at Dandeli itself.
- The route that I mentioned goes through Anshi Ghats.
- From Karwar you can come back to Belgaum via Ankola/Hubli
(NH17/NH63)
