Visited Kas platu yesterday Sept 22 Wednesday as it was an holiday for Ganesh Visargan in Pune
Distance Pune-Kas-Thoseghar-Sajjangad Roundtrip 320 KM, One side: 160 Km
Toll : Rs. 45 + Rs. 25 = 70 One side
Travel time : Pune to kas 120 kms -- 2 hrs 30 mins max
Kas to Sajjangad 30 kms -- 45 mins
Sajjangad to Thoseghar 10 kms -- 15 mins
Thosghar to Pune via Satara 160 kms -- 2 hrs 45 mins
If you start early around 8 am then all the places can easily cover and you can come back till evening 7 pm.
We start late at 11 am and came back at 9:30 pm and covered Kas platu, Kas lake, Thosghar waterfall and Sajjangad.
Kas is a platu where different types of flowers are there in the month of Sept and it will last for one more week till first –second week of October
Kas lake is a beautiful , calm place where you can sit for hours observing beauty of lake and surrounding nature
Thoseghar is famous for waterfall , you can view it from view point but cannot go near to it or have shower below it
Sajjangad is a place where Samarth Ramdas swami who was spiritual guru of Shivaji used to stay and he has taken Samahdi there
A beautiful Shri Ram mandir and Samadhi of Ramdas swami with beautiful view of vally can be see from the top of Sajjangad.
Good parking facility at Sajjangad and you have to climb the steps for 15-20 mins to reach the top from parking area

Route: Pune to Satara NH4 , Take right turn into Satara city , go straight till you reach a big chowk , take left toward one small tunnel .
Once you reach this small tunnel , At right side Kas is 22 KM and if you go straight Thoseghar is around 20 KM and Sajjangad is 7 KM Appx. on same road. Roads are absolutely terrific without any potholes in entire journey to Kas and Thoseghar. Even all state highways from satara to kas , sajjjangad and Thoseghar are very good without any potholes.
For lunch one hotel on a way to sajjangad , Hotel shantai garden where you have have decent lunch.
Photos in order : First 8-9 are of Kas platu then 2-3 Kas lake then Thoseghar waterfall , Sajjangad Temple and last 5 are of View from Sajjangad top.

I was too there yesterday - we did just Kass though. Your snaps have come real good.

Sandeep and Naren : is there any decent place to stay for a family around Thosegarh / Sajjangadh ? Maybe a resort ?

Thanks for bringing to our notice a place like kas plateau. I was not at all aware of it .Beauty of the place compels me to travel there. The water fall and lake also worth capturing in pictures. Awesome pics. Love the place.

How much time did it take from Kaas to Sajangad?

There is a mega t-bhp group visiting Kaas today...

I have never been to Thosegar,Sajjangadh. However, there is a Prakruti Resort around 5-6 kms from Satara on the way to KAAS. I have never gone inside. AP Bhau may be aware about this.
