These are CNG buses. So might be for safe exit of gases in case of any problems. Just guessing.

Yes the train is moving. That day was an auspicious day for bath in river Saryu and the train simply did not have enough space.The last time I had seen anything like that was nearly 20 years ago.

Moving on, on 23rd we were supposed to board the 'gangasutlej' express from Faizabad to Varanasi at 14:45. Rumor was that after 1600hrs all road/rail traffic would be blocked. There was a lot of uncertainty over our departure until TV flashed the postponement to 28th sep 10. This relieved a lot of unwanted tension and we waited for the train!!

After a delay of 2hrs, it came at 1645. But it reached benaras on time!! 2100hrs; so the actual time needed is only 4hrs from Ayodhya to Benaras. I managed a couple of pics between the Faizabad and Ayodhya railway stations (only 6 km apart). Also a few pics are after ayodhya station. The full moon was clicked while nearing benaras.



























































After reaching a dark and desolated benaras, we woke up from our room and went out to the balcony to see this...

Nothing great as such. Its just a sleepy old town in UP. But I lost count of number of White Safari's loaded with politicians when I was travelling from Lucknow to Faizabad.
UP politicians LOVE Safari.
