A quick set of sunsets : Around Tumkur

Just a handful of photographs that I took on a bored weekend , 2-3 weeks back - around Tumkur, DDR and Goravanahalli: the short drive turned out be brilliant with the multi-coloured sunset pictures. What do you think of the pictures ?

Who said you've to drive to hundreds of kilometers to enjoy nature ? In fact, the places around I live Hoskote, Kaiwara, Chintamani, Malur, Devanahalli offer excellent short drives with some nice pictures if you're there are the right hour of the day

For the kind of drives around BLR that you have been doing, you should try the Bagalur-Malur-Kolar route.

Nice snaps.

Thanks, Amp. Yes, I've done the Bagalur-Malur road before, as also the Malur-Kolar one. I like interspersing short villagish drives around bangalore with the long trips I do.

@Airguitar - Man, you've got some magic; I'm going crazy over your pics & count me in your fan list & incase you haven't got one, let me take the privilege of being the first one.

Trust me, I got goosebumps looking at the very first pic. Pic 958, 969, 924, 938, 967 are pure wallpaper stuff. Simply mind blowing, if you don't mind, can I've them set as my wallpaper pls?

There are very few people who shoot exceptional quality pictures. You are one of them. Thanks for posting them.

Good pics there AG. More than that I'm happy for the fact that you don't go in search of beauty. You find beauty where ever you are!

So there's another person in my long list of people who I have to meet down south sometime!

Did you go around Siddar Betta and Channarayanadurga also? Did you go via Dobbaspet or via Gauribidanur?

I went through Dobbasbet and I was amazed at the morning beauty.

DSC0728 and 967 are truly brilliant.
First image could've been better,if you included the tree in the right side in full.

marvellous shots, making the otherwise ordinary scenes extraordinary.

wires were spoilsport but most probably is beyond your control.

in 924, I would have liked the tree off-centered. 939, more space in front of car than behind it. sussrutha already given the comment for 868.

Thanks All.

Arindam and MS, most of those sunset and road shots were from a moving car ( one of those rare trips that I got to remain a passenger).

The closeup of the flower, the picture of the car and the golden (ragi/maize ) field picture are the only ones shot being stationary, IIRC : all others on the move.

And the wires, yes, they spoil a lot of pictures for me, more so as you can't really get outside the road to get close. But come to think of it, those wires are the ones that eventually help you charge your camera battery so they are excused.

No turned back at Goravanahalli. The 200+ steps ascent at Devarayanadurga/Yoganarasimha temple and dusk cut short the trip. But yes, plan to complete till Madhugiri fort / Pavagada pretty soon.

And yes via Dobbaspet : I always take the NH 207.

Narendra, Addy : Thank you!

Aargee : All my photos are free to use : nature belongs to all of us. They're at your disposal.

MX6 : I'm honoured.

Sushrutha : Yes, CW.

And oh the moss-laden patch was a stationary shot too
