@Mysticeyes - your earlier thread about rustic tamilnadu forced me to take a trip through the same route. Now I am tempted to go once again seeing this thread and the pictures you have put up. Brilliant!

nice trip with excellent photos. But as usual what takes the cake is the poetic writing style...if only life was as what you described..hmmm

nice pics. I heard Madurai was in floods due to the recent rains. Was it raining here as well ? These places are truly a photographers delight

@ sanjayc - next time, make sure that you pack the camera even if you forget to pack your better-half along with you

@ getsriram - hope you had a nice vacation. let the pictures flow

@ sushrutha - thanks for sharing the link. I can only dream of writing such detailed travelogues. Hats off to Samurai

@ Nutty Nair - and where are the pics after your trip through the rustic tamilnadu? which all places did you go through? planning another trip?count me in please, afterall, we are 'trivandrians', right?

@ mallumowgli - thanks buddy. wish life could be like 'that' one day.

@ joshguy - shenkottai can be reached through trivandrum - thenmala route or through trivandrum-nagercoil-thirunelveli route. there are many more routes and the off-beat routes are the best. you can get to see the untouched rural side

here are some more pics:

Very beautiful photographs. Have seen so many beautiful village scenes from umpteen number of movies and I always used to wonder where those places might be. Your photographs of these places might answer lots of my questions .

@Mysticeyes - This was the route I took. The same as the one you took, I think.
Tvm - Nagerkoil - Panangudi - Kalakkad - Ambasamudram - Thenkasi - Shenkottai - Aryankavu - Thenmala - Nedumangadu
I usually go in my bike for these trips. I am waiting for the rains to abate for the next ride.
I found this really old, beautiful temple on the way.
Azhagiya Nambikovil at Thirukurungudi. One of the 108 Vaishnava temples

I will try to put up a thread soon. And let's meet up some time soon. Pl. PM me your number.
