The Land of Three Rivers - Munnar, A Photolog

This is a Photolog of our recent drivathon to Munnar. We did this 1day trip on 3rd January.

Now let me introduce the Cast.

1) Deepesh - My friend who works in Dubai
2) Jerry - My 18yr old Cousin (A Greenhorn with a 2 month old LMV licence)
3) Yours truly - Lloyd

Supporting Super Stars

1) FIAT Palio SDX
3) Panasonic Lumix FZ28 & A handy Kodak P&S

The trip was organized in a jiffy since both Deepesh & Me were quite busy and was very short on time but still we wanted to do a trip together. Since we were just 2 of us we decided that 3 will be a company and invited Jerry to join us.

Deepesh reached Cochin on 2nd evening and stayed for the night at my place. After dinner and some chit chat with my dad we slept at around 1am. My dad woke us up at 5am and we quickly took a shower and packed our bags and left home by 5.55am. The fact that Munnar town was exactly 140kms from my place meant that we could take it slow but still we did not want to miss out on any of the sights that Munnar had to offer and that meant that the drive was brisk with minimal stops.

We joined the NH49 and reached Adimali via Muvattupuzha by around 8.25 had a 25 mins breakfast break and then proceeded to Munnar which was just 29kms away.

We had few photo breaks and I enjoyed the excellent roads on my Palio. It was a delight to drive on those twisties with it's excellent handling coupled with it's direct steering and that great Multijet engine made it a really memorable drive.

I will let the photos do the talking.

To conclude we reached Cochin by 10.30pm. We dropped Deepesh at the Bus station and was back home by 11pm after a truly memorable and satisfying drive.

Hi Lloydofcochin,

This is a really amazing TL. Munnar is on my wish list for a really long time and I am just hoping that I try and somehow do it this year. The pics are really awesome and are inviting me to go there at the earliest. Thanks for sharing again.

Thank you Sami. Top Tip - It is just 465 Kms from Bangalore and you have a Scorpio, just go next weekend, Why wait?
