Thanks for the Pench through your lens.
Regards,
Sir, as I said let the Big Cats rest. Yes , Pench is definitely not all about Wild Cats. Rains follow me whenever I am in Nagpur to remind me of my college days. With change of weather due to summer rains, I saw a different aspect of Pench. Did you notice how the mother deer and deer calf were depending on small accumulated water. Now think of real summers. How things will be then? I may be going back to Pench in mid May to observe same what they feel.

Re: For how long we will be able to see Pench...?

Magnificient documentation of the change in weather and the unseasonal rains.

An equally captivating storytelling.

You seem to have captured the start of the leaf shedding season at Pench. Very soon we will start seeing a very different landscape here - leafless and bone dry.

God save the animals.

3 threads - 3 different perspectives !

Let it flow.

p.s: enroute to nagpur that evening, I had to sleep for an hour in my car on the highway to get refreshed after the drenching.

Ghosh Sir, that eve was breathe taking and the rains made it memorable. I still feel the freshness of gushin wind while I was standing on the moving Gypsy. As I have been in Nagpur for around 6 years, I can imagine how hard it would be to survive in summers. How is the work progress for those artificial tanks going on?

Mostly, I will be there by mid of May and may be one of my fellow BHPian (BolBolero) as well from Mumbai.

Wanted to capture more of that eve but rains refrained us from using our gear. If you have some pics please do upload them.

Hey nice pictures Abhijeet, You Fuji's results are brilliant. And like everybody said Big cats or No Big cats Pench seems to have enough beauty to have us sppechless. Liked the tree shots a lot and feel bad for those bullocks ha ha.

Nice pictures! Pench is all so live on TeamBhp.
I think the neelkanth maze is more of a Kingfisher maze.

Yes thanks for pointing that out. By the time I was updating the log, I was tight on schedule. Any which ways I Mr. Mallaya did not object.

Re: For how long we will be able to see Pench...?

We were excited and called up the other 2 guys know what they are
missing. Soon got a call from them that they will be leaving from
Nagpur on the same night not to miss the morning safari the other day.
In a meantime 2 of us had dinner, enjoyed bonfire and by the time we
went to sleep it was already 11PM.

For how long we will be able to see Pench...?-macro.jpg

02:00 AM and my cell phone rang. Voice from other side, Khwasa pahuch
gaye hai, lene aao.

Hard to leave comfy and warm bed after spoiling couple of days sleep.
Updated my friend of their arrival and we slept again.
My cell phone rang again and this time we jumped out of bed, with half
opened eyes went out in dark towards the car and I almost fell of the
small bricks forming the garden boundary as I was already struggling
against the sleep since last three nights.

Finally, we reached Khwasa, fetched the other 2 friends and back to
the resort. You know what happens after meeting good old friends after
long time, we babbled and soon found that it was already morning. We
were still half asleep, benumbed by the keen air of the morning. A
pale light at length announced the dawn of a new day. The awakened
birds began to sing in the trees. Everything in nature seemed to have
been created in accordance with admirable and absolute logic.
It was a fine, mild day, and a gentle breeze fanned our faces. We are
all set to the third and last safari of the trip, and happy that at
last if not the collarwali then we 4 tigers were together.

Re: For how long we will be able to see Pench...?

With a new dawn, we found ourselves on a road split and a thought came in my mind;

We travel near and far,
We travel to known and unknown paths,
The routes defined or sometimes lost on undefined one's,
Only to find ourselves close to our dear ones,
Same is the pattern of life,
Which keep giving options to choose,
Unknown paths yet to discover,
Destiny giving clues as the sign board will,
And we find ourselves facing this....

For how long we will be able to see Pench...?-01rightdecision.jpg

And we zoomed ahead to reached the wilderness again...

Doc thank you for reigniting this thread. Definately as you can see the photos, 3rd safari trip is still missing. There is a reason to this and the reason is here...

This is Mack.
Its mother died while it was a week old. So got him home from street. It is now 3 weeks old and weak. So have been busy with its rehab @ my place.

I will try to update the thread soon and my visit will be most probably in May last week.

@Joshua, thank you for stopping by the thread. There is more to it which you would like. The park remains close for 3 months of monsoon.
