Yeah, it was expensive..

DS might be an aberration though. Many rallies don't allow (or have penalties when you use) GPS/Terratrip, or need A/T tyres, recovery equipment etc. Also depending on the duration, entry fee will be lower. And very unlikely that you'd have post-rally repairs (I didn't have any).

oldmonk, I don't know if your rallying skills are more laudable than your writing skills. It's a great writeup. It is unfortunate that you were not able to complete the rally (and probably missed a podium finish going by your progress), but I am sure you achieved your objective: having fun!
