We sat there for a while and looked at the views around.


Mist slowly covered us


This guy caught my attention.



It was already 11:45AM by then. We took 1 hour 45 minutes for the climb. We started the descend slowly with a calmness in our mind. Mist was playing hide and seek.

We reached our Civvy by 12:30PM, which makes it a 45 minute descend

Muruganmala

While the PPGs were resting in Civvy, I decided to climb Muruganmala.

It only took 10 minutes to climb this hill. I started the descend immediately and it took just 5 minutes to be back.

By 12:45PM we started from Kurishumala towards our next destination Bharanamganam to offer our prayers at the Tomb of St. Alphonsa.

Kurishumala to Bharanamganam

Drove towards Bharanamganam in the narrow curvy roads.










Some distance ahead my GPS showed we are infact near Vagamon Heights. Yes indeed we were, but the only difficulty was we were in the next hill already .

We drove on to reach Bharanamganam by 14:00PM

By 14:30 we started back. We have to head to Kumily for the exit towards theni and then Dindigul to catch NH7 to Bangalore. But not before going to Mundakkayam to our tasty find we did on our return from Gavi.

Bharanamganam - Kuttikkanam

We drove on towards Mundakkayam. But I wanted to visit Poonjar Palace on the Erattupetta route. This place has a royal collection of antiques. Checking with the localites I ended up infact in two palaces.





The latter was confirmed to be the palace to visit. But I had to take the permission from the "Thampuran" (King) and he was not there.

So continued towards Mundakkayam. Stopped Civvy at the busstand and went to our favourite restaurant and stuffed our tummies.

We drove again to reach Kuttikkanam by 17:30PM.

Parunthupara (Falcon/Eagle Rock)

We took a deviation from KK road towards Parunthupara.

We finally started from Parunthupara by 18:45PM after witnessing a wonderful sunset.

Parunthupara - Kumily

We headed on towards Kumily.

A little later we found Pattumala Church fully illuminated.




We drove nonstop from here by 19:00PM and reached Kumily by 20:00PM.

Kumily - Salem

We reached Theni by 21:00PM and headed on to Dindigul. We reached NH7 at Dindigul by 22:30PM.

We reached Salem by 12:00AM, nonstop from Kumily totalling distance of 303Km in 4 hours.

Salem - Bangalore

We filled some petrol from Salem and drove on nonstop again to reach home by 02:45AM.

By 03:00AM we dumped all the luggage and hit the bed. When sleep took us over, we never knew.

Could be a bit hot.
If restricted to Vagamon, 2 days would be good enough, 1 to sight see and 1 to laze around

Excellent writeup yaar. Infact I came to know of a place called Vagamon after reading your travelogue. Am planning for a trip to vagamon & gavi in another 10 days. Its going to be 6 guys, 3 days and 2 nights. would that be enough? Any pointers on the trip would also be very helpful.
