A quick trip to Shimla, Narkanda and chail

Plus to what Dry ice mentioned. There were certain sections which are very narrow otherwise and couple of hairpin are tight, where Safari needs to be reversed.

if you go early morning or late evening, you may not find opposite traffic.

Even i was praying the same while driving up..

Reviving an old thread....

I'll be going to Narkanda > Hatu by December end. Couple of questions -

1. Which route is better - in terms or road/traffic/travel time -
Solan > Shimla > Fagu > Narkanda
OR
Solan > Chail > Narkanda

2. Ciaz would be able to travel till hatu, right ? any underbelly hits I should expect ?

you probably won't be able to reach the top in any car due to the amount of snow there in end december. Come here, ask the locals and then decide to go up. The chail route will be better , it has significantly less traffic and will generally be less frustrating.
