In all my experience of dealing with dozens of people running 185/70 R14 XM1+, you are the FIRST person to complain of bad ride quality. Get your tyre pressure checked first.
Yes, second that,
I drive a Swift Diesel VDI (15months old), switched from the OE JK tyres to Michelin 185/70/R14, have driven around 70,00kms till date, superb tyres, especially over bad roads, and still 25-30% tread left. well worth the premium pricing they charge.

I will check other dealers as well. Thanks
Stay away from Haute Car Zone.

You could try places like Tyrestore (Greams Road) or Raja Tyres (Pycrofts Road). Even Lal near Sathyam should be cheaper than Haute Car Zone.

Is it 7,000 or 70,000 kms? If 7000kms, then your tyres are fading out very fast! My XM1+ are also almost 7000 kms old, and the tyres are still brand new!

Swift vdi upsize

Hi Folks,

I know this may have been asked already but i couldn't find it anywhere on the thread. So it comes:

My swift vdi has 14" alloys (neo sunrise) so upgrading to 15" is not an option as i do not wanna spend again on wheels.

I still am running on stock tyres however and have clocked 30,000 kms and now wish to upgrade tyres. (Bored of these measly thin tyres although they are still in decent shape)

I am thinking of upgrading to 195/65/R14 - Yokohama a.drive. Let me know if this would cause any problems or i can go ahead with it.

Cheers!

It wont cause problems. Jaggu is using that size in Yoko A Drives and is quite happy with it.

Thanks Nikhil . I hope the ride quality is better too. I do a lot of highway driving and am hoping that upsizing would give a better grip.

The best price i am getting in Pune is 3450 / Tyre. Is it a good price or should I negotiate more?

185/70 R14 will give you a better ride quality.

3450/- is a decent price.

Difference between 185/70 and 195/65 is negligible when it comes to ride quality. I say go for it, after having driven cars with 165 to 205 tire width, i find 195's to be spot on wrt ride, comfort and safety. Without affecting the FE also.

Ensure rim size is 5.5J or more.
