re: Maruti Suzuki Swift : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

That's right satish tns. The Rim is 5.5J. Should I stick to these(ANHC) rims or revert back to OEM rims of Swift?
I am thinking of using Bridgestone ER60.

re: Maruti Suzuki Swift : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

5.5J is the correct size to mount 195/60R15 tyres. Your problem area is else where. However do one more check, there is a thread on the 'Offset' values or 'ET' values on the forum. Just check if the ANHC and Swift have the same offsets, the PCD for both is 100 and the rim size is correct too so that is the only thing remaining to be verified before we look elsewhere. BTW when was the last time that your car was aligned?

re: Maruti Suzuki Swift : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Tried looking for Offset values for swit and ANHC, but couldn't find any information. I check the ANHC rim, 0812H SSWL 15*5 1/2J 56AR1 is mentioned on them. Will try to check what comes with Swift OEM rim.
I have attached the Wheel alignment numbers, before that Wheel alignment was done on 58600.

Would be great if someone can share offsets of Swift and ANHC. Else I will move back to OEM swift rims with 185/70/14 for sake of peace of mind.

@Gill,
You will get the off set values from data bank on the alignment machines and not on the wheels. I do not recall seeing these even in the service manuals but do check there too.

re: Maruti Suzuki Swift : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

While going through the posted picture again, I noticed the Rim diameter mentioned as 14, where as it should be 15. Does the rim diameter difference might be the cause of wrong Alignment or the diameter doesn't make any difference?

In this post it has been mentioned that Swift and ANHC has the same off set.
PCD is same 100. Good to go with ANHC 15 rim and 195/60/15?

re: Maruti Suzuki Swift : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Following are the operative prices for 195/60/15:-
Bridgestone Re88-4800
A-Drive-4500
C-Drive-4650
Michelin LC-5800
Continental CPC2-4500

I would prefer good braking performance, durability, Noise is not a prime concern.Tyre should last long with decent overall performance. Will not try Apollo this time.

On my Swift VXi I have ANHC rims with Yoko C Drive 195/60/15 without any issues. And for the spare wheel I have stock rims with Yoko A Drive 185/70/14 because 15" rims would not fit perfectly in the boot.
Go for ANHC rims with Yoko C drive 195/60/15 you will not regret...

re: Maruti Suzuki Swift : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hi Guys,

Just happens to be that time of the year that I require a Tyre Change. My 2nd set of S-Drives have come to end of their lives(37K Kms). I wanted to try out something better on my Swift D this time. Currently am running 205/55 R15 and wouldn't mind a downsize to 195/60 R15 without compromising on handling.

I feel the S-Drives let go suddenly on hard braking at 120+ Speeds, You feel the vehicle is coming to a stop and all of a sudden you are skating. Not sure if any of you have faced similar situations but sure is scary.

It would be nice if someone could suggest me a good set of tyres which would give me good performance in dry and wet conditions and last about 35K Kms.

I had a look at the following options:
205/55 R15
S-Drive: 5800
Michelin PP2: 6500

I don't know about the ANHC but the Swift OEM rim's offset is +45.
I have not seen this value mentioned anywhere in the user manual or on the rim. I followed the method given in Wikipedia to calc. the offset of rims, and arrived at the value of +45 for Swift.
